Made really good friends. Student Union has lots going on. City centre is great location. Online lectures are a bit rubbish. My last 3 weeks have been disrupted by strike.
Strikes severely disrupted learning. Really depends on the lecturer or tutor. Some are really good and some are rubbish
Very rich social life and nice place to live but the staff could be unsupporting and even rude at times
Teachinv on site is great, online it seems a little lazy and uninspiring. Even after all the Covid rules were cancelled nothing changed, which does not improve the quality of teaching.
Great uni, a really good selection of discovery modules so you get to learn of other subject areas outside of your course. The compulsory modules also offer a lot of learning opportunity. Materials such a wood, plaster, canvas and printing equipment are all provide freely which is really good. They could do with some storage areas- lockers and perhaps provide more printer budget. Staff are mostly nice.
Online classes are very accessible and can also be rewatched as the lectures are recorded so it is easy to be able to refer back to previous content or if you were unable to attend. The course is taught both online and in studio, with practical classes on campus and theoretical modules taught via Teams.
It’s accessible, uni is located very near the city centre so public transport both train and bus are easily available. Lots of entertainment in the form of shopping malls and dining places. Prices are lower than London- so a bit more student friendly. It has a very large student population as there are many universities in Leeds.
My grades aren't given out
Good teaching and unresponsive student support
I love the campus and my course, there lots of social spaces to study and relax, as well as convenient shops nearby. Perhaps more quiet places could be made available for study as during peak hours it’s difficult to find a seat
Really engaging and I find it really interesting, the format is mostly really good and generally well-presented and clear. Some elements aren’t as engaging, and some seminar leaders are unclear. Also the push for a generally online-based learning doesn’t appeal to me as much as in-person
Leeds is a student-based city and there’s so much on offer here. There’s an abundance of jobs should you need/want one and plenty of different activities to do that don’t all involve clubs! (but the club scene is also very good)
Really lovely halls, recently had new smart TVs in the kitchen, rooms are plenty big enough with small double beds, very sociable
Reasonably good facilities with a good mix of high spec computer clusters (which can also be accessed remotely) and study spaces. Lecturers can be a little subpar, somewhat limited in terms of explaining concepts Student life in Leeds deservedly has its reputation, by far the most consistently good night out, good amount of green spaces etc for good weather. Criticism of Leeds would be the city centre is a little small
Currently still a mix of online and in person lectures, which for most people is by far the best choice.
Big rooms, on campus, catered, comes with a gym membership Incredibly old and outdated
Students Union is very good. Online learning still on occasion - hard to meet people for autistic students.
Blended learning. Labs in person. Sometimes better to do from home at own pace. Can cause anxiety for autistic students.
Always facilities to be able to study in a different environment depending on what you like and lots of cafes to keep you going. Staff are very poor at replying to emails when I’ve asked for specific help.
Good level of blended learning, i’d always like more contact hours. Some modules can be difficult to maintain motivation but are structured well and staff always willing to help during office hours. Other modules are amazing and very interesting
Very diverse with good work opportunities close to the city centre walkable distance or good public transport links. Unsure of graduate opportunities.
Leeds is an expensive city to live in but the uni is great overall
A lot of the course is online but this does make it more accessible. There are not a lot of contact hours but there is always the opportunity for office house in each module.
The union is beautiful. The campus is so large and alive like a great animal. I love the vibe of the entire university. There are many libraries however they're often full. Love the new buildings. So much life in the uni.
In first year, tutorials are amazing however in the second year they are massively reduced hours.
Quite expensive as it is a massive city but it is very easy to get a well paid job whenever you like and it is such a diverse area
Extremely cheap. Better than what I've seen in other unis for twice the price.
