All staff in university is eager to help you with any kind of questions or problems. At lectures teachers are really engaging and supportive. You never notice how quick time flies during lectures. Especially, before any assignments you are given every detail about it, so you are well prepared and not scared at all. Birkbeck suggests a lot of opportunities for busy social life, where you can meet lots of enthusiastic people, and opportunities for future career such as additional workshops, professional guests, etc. I love being a part of this community!
Great access to central London.
Student services is excellent, library facilities and operating times are great, location is good. Some teachers are not so helpful.
I'm about to finish my first year at Birkbeck doing a Computing BSc and so far this is what I can say about the uni. - Location is perfect, next to UCL, SOAS, UOW and more. A lot of places to eat, visit and relax, especially since its at the heart of London. - Decent-sized lecture and lab rooms - They have a good system for every course that you do e.g instructions on how to publish your webpage would have a lot of prep and it seems complicated but they explain it really well so less room for errors. - Financial support is good, they have a lot of options for this. Application wise it was simple and a decision would be made by them pretty fast. - Library is quite big, its 4 floors with one lift you can use. - They have a good system of being able to read books online regardless if they are available or unavailable physically.
the institution is nice for aspiring biologists and medical science research at the heart of London
Its pretty awsome around here
Awesome
It’s been good so far. I just wish the support system is easier to get access to
Birkbeck is a good option for those who need a degree desperately but can’t afford to not work.
Best thing is the people and the friendless of stuff and fellow students. The more difficult thing is my course content, I wish there was more contact time with more of a focus on the Japanese studies side of the module rather than often being grouped with the studies of other language courses.
Good seminar times.
fun and helpful - especially as a worker. saturday uni :(
Helpful lecturers, part time option, great food and quiet friendly environment
it’s cool
not many societies
It is a good place to study due to its location, the amount of teaching hours and the difficulty of the material could be improved.
The teachers, so far that I have had, have been so wonderful. I started the first term really worried, feeling a bit lonely and emotional but I felt really inspired and motivated by them. I also think the overall values of the university are so good - it gives opportunities and a voice to all and I’m honestly proud to say that I study there. The thing, however I would improve on is communication. Sometimes it’s hard to get in touch with students services and get responses from them or queries raised. I also find personal tutors aren’t really that supportive.
25-34 years

Best tutors and good look of campus, more support, nice library and more facilities
Tutor’s support, school support

It’s a nice university in a nice area very convenient. There’s everything around. But can be improved by having more community because it lacks the aspects of like a community getting together having events just to talk not for like education or like stuff just like work you know like be friendly. Have fun. like how other universities of societies like this one society are limited like all universities of society for like everyone a culture and everything and just need something for the younger students to have that university life. Even though it’s a mature university. But it has so much Support and everything that you would need to study so that something is really great about it like there’s so many workshops but more fun things would be nice
Everything overall is really good all the staff are so nice warm and friendly I’ve not had one single bad interaction everything is so good and the communication when it comes to help with studies is so good
