Biomedical Science BSc (Hons)

University of Huddersfield is a great university because, when compared to big city universities, the staff really takes an interest into the students. Lecturers ensure that students understand the content and allocate time for 1-on-1 meetings if anyone is struggling. Overall, the teaching is excellent. Also, the university has great support, whether it is mental health or just general career advice. One thing that I struggle with at the university is that there seems to be an overflow of students. A lot of the time I struggle to find places to sit when I need to do work or if I just want to have lunch. This is accompanied by the lack of available lockers when Applied Sciences students have practicals. One thing I have noticed is that some students keep the keys to the lockers therefore not leaving them for other students. One last thing I would improve is the price of food because they’re not exactly student-friendly. One slice of pizza is £3.30 but at the shop I can buy a whole pizza for much less than that.

Biomedical Science BSc (Hons)

My best aspects of my uni experience has been my friends. I have been able to meet people I never imagined I would meet and I know that they are going to be very special people in my life. The thing that makes it a great place to study is the location as my commute is only short. It can be improved by having multiple places for students to study instead of just the library, where you can work with your friends and talk to them instead of being silent in the library. In terms of my worst uni experience, I don’t think I have one as of yet.

The student shop is too expensive. More food that caters to students who are struggling financially. More financial and mental wellbeing support.

It could be improved by having better timetabling for commuter students, having a one hour lecture as the only contact time that day is not ideal

Lots of great facilities. Improvement would be the general aesthetic of the university- it’s a bit dull and probably needs more greenery around

It’s so supportive there but it’s not accessible in a wheelchair and there’s a lot of discrimination to disabled people from other students but staff are great and super lovely
