The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

the university is amazing and has made me such a different person, I have met great people and learnt so much. cant wait to qualify and start my new way in the world thanks to the university of Greenwich
we are taught by very talented lecturers
The university is in a great space close to local towns and train stations and the halls are right on the campus grounds
I repeated my first year so I have done 3 years so far. I am currently in my second year. the first two years weren't great as the tutors were very harsh a lot of the time and it was clear they had favourites- of which i was not one. I could see the change in dynamic when they moved from a favourite to a non favourite - especially the way they spoke to you. this didn't help my mental health much
They send out employability emails daily and hold help desks every monday in the library
the tutors we have are very knowledgeable but sometimes they expect too much of us. They are closely linked to the UCL Bartlett school of Architecture and it feels like they expect that quality from us and get a little rude when we don't... but if we had the ability to produce work to that standard we would be at UCL
I personally don't have that much involvement with the student union. They have recently finished the new student union building which always seems to be busy when I have visited on the rare occasion. It also has a new SU club
I remain in one building for my studies and it is great although we sometimes struggle with sufficient space when all year groups are in
Yes, it takes me 15-20 minutes to travel. The uni also has lots of travel links including the TL, DLR, River boat services and multiple bus routes.
There are not as many as other universities that I have visited but there are enough to accommodate. Eg. netball, football, rugby, badminton and other course related and cultural societies
First year was awful and the organisation was terrible but second year is great and I really enjoy my subject now. I told my tutors I was struggling with my mental health last year via email and they never responded or took me aside to chat with me. This was disappointing. Although I do feel like it depends on what tutor you get as I this year they are very understanding.
So far it’s been a bit of a hairy start but I am enjoying it and really happy with the decision of moving over here from home which is a pretty big step. Services are great help, people are friendly and helpful which is a great comfort to have when you have moved away from home and don’t understand how the system works here when it is completely different to your own
From listening to previous students who have completed and graduated from my course they have all seemed to have been very successful in guaranteeing a job
I really really like my course. I moved over from Ireland to do this course and I think it is one of the best decisions that I have made. I like that we get introduced to all the machinery in the therapy centre in first year, the combination of the theory and practical. Learning how to do research from week one which is great preparation prior to our dissertation/thesis. Only thing I least like about it are some of the assignments
Seeing as I’m a student of two colleges as my course is also partnered with Hadlow College, I feel that I am not represented well from University of Greenwich as when I seek any help or information from student centre I get turned away because they do not see me as a “University Student” and get told to go to Hadlow as that is where I am being educated although Greenwich have a huge say in how my course is to be run, monitor my assignments and assessment and they also provide books and journals in their Library for my course. I am also paying my accommodation to Greenwich and when applying to this course on UCAS and doing Clearing Applications it all done through University of Greenwich and you also have to register yourself on the University of Greenwich portal but yet you get treated and told that you are not a “University of Greenwich student”
Such a broad range of facilities and haven’t been able to utilise them all but any of the facilities I have dealt with I am very happy with them
Services are very good, the shuttle bus is a great service and cannot be grateful enough for it. The village shop is handy, I don’t personally use the DOME but it dose seem to provide a great entertainment and services, the laundrette is good and secure.
I haven’t joined any societies or sports clubs but from what I have heard and seen they do sound fantastic and wish I have joined something
Very good, receive loads of emails regarding upcoming workshops, opening hours of counselling appointments with links on booking a place or appointment.
I like my course a lot. Every lesson is interesting. All professors helpfull, friendly and supportive. I am happy that I chosen this university and this course.
A lot of opportunities. You just have to want to do something.
Good proffesors, interesting lessons. Not very friendly people.
It is really goods
I live about 1 hour from my university, it costs 500£/month for two people. I think it is really good price. We will have to search for another accomodation and I think that I am not going to find something similar with price like this.
My university has a lot offers for students
the best decision in my life, greenwich is a really nice place to live and study in. University is great, all tutors are well prepared for their work, students are great
Reminding us of it every week, having Greenwich Employability Password that encourage people to think about work, having subject that is dedicated to it
everything is good, nothing is bad
They are great, very caring and hard working
Very safe, great location, price a bit high
Yes, just 10 minute walk
Many options, everybody can find something they like
I’ve really enjoyed it everyone is so supportive and it’s been such a positive experience! The course is amazing and it’s the only university that provides it!
Constantly have jobs available and good work placements
It’s difficult but wasn’t expecting it to be easy it’s just a great course!
Great and easy to communicate with!
Great university, location I enjoy it so much!
Good range and lots to offer
I like the university and since my course will finish in two years, I am really I chose Greenwich as my flatmates in university hall are very kind and helpful. I am an international student so it was extremely important for me to have clean flatmates. They are clean and friendly.
I think the business faculty makes an effort to organise career fairs but for Education faculty not so much. We haven't been given a list of schools which will accept Greenwich trainee teachers for volunteering. It could improve a great deal by organising trips to local schools or museums.
I love the fact that we are able to discuss with our lecturers our opinions and also book appointments with the lectuers and academic skills tutors for guidance in writing an essay. I also like the fact that the lectures are recorded to be accessed online and the lectures print valuable journals for us to read and also excerpts from books which we can benefit from. The least part of my course is that there are no study groups which are organised by the faculty. It is hard to find people who would want to stay back to study in Library after class.
They organise a number of events and they are easy to communicate with as we can just call, email or text them. They also have goodie bags for placement students.
I think the safety and location of my accommodation is very convenient for me as my classes are a ten minute walk from my flat. The cost of accommodation is reasonable as it includes electricity, wifi, maintenance and weekly cleaning service.
There is shuttle bus every thirty minutes at Avery Hill campus which takes us to Greenwich and Eltham station. There is also a shuttle bus to take us to Falconwood station and Medway campus. The printer in Library works well and there a variety of books including quality literature to read in Stockwell Street Library and Avery Hill Library. We can also reserve books online if it isn't available in Avery Hill library so the university will bring it from Stockwell Street Library.
Yes, we have several bus stops which takes us to Eltham station and also to Eltham High Street which has supermarkets.
There are a number of societies and the volleyball club is quite active. There is a movie night in our campus every Wednesday and from time to time they will have freebies when they have stalls to promote an organisation such as Education union.
Academic tutors and the feedback they offer are quite helpful. As they take the time to write a paragraph on how we can improve our academic writing. I have never used counselling service but the lecturers offer enough support so there was no need to.
Very good enjoy most days! Lecturers are fun and engaging and the activities are varied. Lots of support and going to uni was one my best decisions! Recommend university of Greenwich to everyone!
We have a whole module helping us decide our next steps which is super helpful and the staff and teams around are great.
I like the consistency and structure however some lectures are not very engaging
So far seems awesome. Regular contact with students too
Really good. The library on my campus can be a bit restricted but good selection for topics
Not far to commute in the car (traffic depending of course)
Huge amount of societies and sports all really varied and inclusive.
So far very good lots of communication and the dyslexia and disability team have been great help
I really like the change of environment from my home life. It allows me to explore my world and embrace who I truly am. By means of having time to alone and think.
Specific lectures on employ-ability.
Most diversity of lecturers. east death by power-point.
Very good. Amazing landlord. Amazing Caretaker Big up Kent student accommodation.
Below average. Some rooms clammy broken clocks.
20 minute walk.
Brilliant. Best choice I’ve made towards my education, it broadens your ideas of knowledge and let’s you see into other people’s worlds and how many different learning and teaching style there are
Helps to find placements and gives many examples of local enrichment activities.
Some lectures are engaging and bring the listeners into the lecture
Plenty student union reps available and see many walking round campus. Main student union bar is on another campus so have to use transport to get there
Very good, everything is easily accessible, they even provide free shuttle buses between the three campuses and from the local train station
Yes. Although I don’t live in accommodation it’s less than 10 minutes walk away- depending what site your lecture or seminar is on. Only negative distance is the student union bar, there’s not one on the campus which i study on so have to travel to the main Greenwich campus to use this facility
Good range, every sporting activity is offered and the societies all seem engaging and wants everybody to be apart of them
Excellent- essay feedback has been given back before they aimed for, and even up till the last hour before having to submit the essay they were emailing out helpful and useful tips as well as reminders on how to reference
