My overall university experience so far has been amazing and I can definitely say it has been the best years of my life! I would do it all over again! The amount of opportunities and windows that have opened for me is truly amazing and I would never get this experience anywhere else, I love trying new things and being at university had taught me to grab every opportunity and try new things
The university makes amazing efforts to increase employment the amount of workshops and skills such as the future plan weeks are jut one example of how amazing your skills and CV can adapt there are multiple opportunities the university offer with loads of internships and work placements to gain more skills and confidence
The most liked thing I like about the way the course is taught is the lessons are engaging and it isn’t always just sitting there and listening activities are invoked as well which makes it more memorable and a learning experience I like the guest speakers as well. One least thing I dislike about the way the course is taught is sometime it is not engaging and it is hard to engAge because it is just talking
The student union in terms of student representatives and facilities is amazing! There is a strong sense of team leadership and it is a great way for people to come to activities and make new friends, the student union is very proactive and there is always events to go to
The university facilities are amazing with multiple study rooms and locations to go and study with different places for different learners! The computer rooms and the wide range of libraries is amazing and so useful! The gym facilities gone do with improve so there Is a gym on each campus
Yes, I would say the university is in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities it is not to far and there are always buses coming and going to get you to your destination quicker, the local amenities are very convenient as everything is all in one place and there is no need to travel for ages it is definitely manageable and great excerise
The variety is societies and sports in impeccable, there is so many different activity’s for everyone and everything it is perfect for all individuals and it is so much fun I joined the volleyball society and I absolutely loved it! I wanted a change and to try something different and the university offers so many opportunities to try something different
The supports offered is amazing you are guaranteed to have a response is less than a hour and feedback is always honest and reflective, tutors always help and counselling offered is amazing there are loads of leaflets and information on where you can get help and advice
The location is fantastic. The uni is in the centre of town and transport around Gloucestershire on the student buses is only £1.60. The facilities are not very modern.
Fantastic university, great staff and a wonderful experience. Halls of residence on campus are a blast, and I'd highly recommend them! Apply to Uni of Glos!!!!!
The your future plan team is a great support for employability
Very interactive, small class sizes.
Fantastic student union.
Lots of amenities, including faith space, sports, fields, refectory, cafes, halls, library, and study rooms.
Close by the bus stop, and walking to the high street only takes about 20 minutes
A huge variety of societies, as well as recreational sports and league sports
Very good, everyone has an assigned personal tutor aswell for more personal matters.
Good experience with the special character of FCH. The course is exciting and challenging whilst remaining current and relevant to the field of psychology. Oxstalls business school is also very good to work in outside of uni hours.
Time is dedicated to lectures and workshops were employability is targeted. The course is specifically designed to increase our skill level for the real world as well
Variety of lecturers with different backgrounds to offer different expertise. Chunks of three hour lectures are too long
They are good at getting everyone involved and keeping everyone in the loop
Beautiful campus. It is smaller than my previous university however has a special feel to it
Francis Close Hall is in a great location as it is right in the town centre, close to shops, restaurants and bars. This does make parking more difficult though.
Very good and varied
Regular personal tutor meetings are offered. Wellbeing support is available
Its been hard at times and stressful but that comes with my course. It is also fun and relaxing with the opportunities so its enjoyable to be there. I love the societies, there are so many options and they are all supportive and dont require tons of skill to be involved. The university is supportive within the helpzones
I get placements in the ambulance and im almost guaranteed a job as a paramedic when i finish my degree so its good
Its a bit unorganised but its very supportive and helpful so its easier to get through despite lack of organisation
There isnt much compared to other universitys but they have a great team who help with anything including course issues
They have a lot of facilities in different campuses so its good
University is in good location with it being more the middle of Gloucestershire so not too far a walk from everywhere. Easier to drive from accomadation but possible to walk
Amazing, lots of options
Support is amazing with both course teams and helpzones teams. They help with any issues to try minimise stress
I lived in halls, now in a student house, I work as an ambassador, went on a study exchange in Canada, joined a society, met friends for life and I'm doing a course I absolutely love with people who really care about me and my work. It couldn't get much better!
We're supported by the Your Future Plan team that helps finding work opportunities, placements, study exchange etc. Uni also employs student ambassadors. The job is brilliant and well paid!
I love how practical my course is, we work in real briefs, visit agencies etc.
I'm not complaining, they do great job with freshers's week, fair etc and their mental health events are the best!
You have no idea how much you need a 24/7 access to facilities until you need it. Thankfully we have it!
Uog location is great, Park campus is near to Bath Road which has restaurants, shops etc. It's a bit further from the city centre but there is the FCH campus which I use to study that's only minutes away walk from the centre.
Thare are so many societies to choose from! And new are being added every year!
I'm more than happy with support from the uni. My tutors go above and beyond for us students. Having constant feedback on my work makes it much better even before I submit it and I learn so much more!
It has been very challenging and an eye opener, my course is extremely hard which I wasn’t massively aware of. My accommodation is probably the worse aspect of university, I am moving to University Derby for my second and third year.
They have put on your future plan weeks and activities etc.
I like the main modules and their teachers, they build a really good rapport however there’s a lot of different teaching in regard to how we’re shown things so it’s gets confusing on what we actually need to know and what we don’t.
I’ve not had much interaction with the students union so can’t really comment.
Some things are outdated and there’s a lack of some equipment but other than that pretty good.
Yes, very handy not too far from the centre and there’s a doctors right opposite the university.
There’s so many choices very good for fitting everyone in.
Very helpful especially when I was going through the process of getting diagnosed dyslexic, very helpful in the help zone also really nice.
Overall university has been a life changing experience for me as it as given me so many skills and helped build my confidence which i otherwise wouldnt have achieved.
Every year the university holds a my future plan week which focuses on increasing skills which will help us once we graduate. There is also an opportunity to pick a placement module within my course which allows me to start building a name for myself in the working wolrd.
I really enjoy that alot of my lectures are in relatively small groups allowing the lectureer to get to know us as people. However, we have had cases where lectures werent as organised and efficient as maybe they could have been, which made our assignment stressful.
The student union in the refectory is rather small and could beade alot bigger if able, however the su volunteers make the most of the space they are given. I really enjoy the su bar the most as during the day it's a good place to get work done but is also a great place to meet for drinks in the evening.
The facilities are good, however computers could be updated.
Yes, the FCH campus is in a perfect location, as it is only 5 minutes away from both my student house and the city centre. This makes it very easy to get around.
I am not a part of any sports team or societies but i can say that there are so many to choose from if thats what you're interested in.
We are encouraged to have termly meetings with our tutor which i find very inslightful and helpful as we can discuss both academic and personal topics and issues we are facing. Unfortunately I haven't the personal services so helpful when asking for things such as counselling but thankfully have other places I can go to for such support
Over the 3 years I’ve made friends, I’ve improved on my work quality and have improved on grades! I’ve really enjoyed my time and don’t want to leave Future students will enjoy the course and must take their time and have focus to get on with work!
There’s future plan weeks that help you all the way
I like the fact that we have industry lecturers but feel that we should have more
Really fun and easy to talk to!
Really good! We had a brand new building made for us worth 2 million pounds
It’s a 15 minute walk from anything, so really great for me
Lots of different societies! Great facilities
Really good! I’ve had some hard experiences and everyone was helpful and easy to talk to!
I am really enjoying my time at university. 1st year can be a bit slow if you are further advanced in your learning but does give you initial expertise in how to best submit work to get the best grade so that you can uit the ground running in 2.d year.
We have a whole module on employability skills, as well as a 'my future plan week' consisting of various lectures/seminars etc on employability and confidence and the like
Most: interesting lecturers from industry. Least: ?
Haven't taken advantage of these
Good, audio feedback as well as written
