Overall I am satisfied with the university. If you have questions there are many people you can turn to. It's not very far from the accommodation. Nevertheless,there are bus services for students which is great. The accommodation for students seems a bit expensive ,though and I think it is increasing each year so it might become much more convinient to move to a private flat with a landlord.

I applied to Glasgow for its academic reputation as well as its social reputation. My lecturers are fantastic and offer a variety of perspectives and approaches. The texts and topics we cover range from medieval poems to twentieth century literature, so I don't feel like I am restricted in my chosen studies. My past two years at Glasgow have been made even better by joining a sports team. I've made so many close friends, visited many beautiful areas of the country for training weekends and had some of the best nights out with my team! Glasgow is unmatched in terms of student life; the support offered academically from the lecturers, the Student Representative Council and the Sports Association has made studying at this university more fulfilling than I could have anticipated.

I am a student at the University of Glasgow and have chosen it because of the apparently good student experience and the support that was advertised. I have found that my current course is not right for me and now want to change. The problem with this university is that there are no internal transfers, if you want to change your degree you have to re-apply to all universities through UCAS again. I have spoken to the rector about it, he said he would so something...to this very day I had no further response from him and don't expect to. Other unis do internal transfers without all this UCAS-nightmare and even have personal tutors! The University of Glasgow is just a business, how you feel does not matter as long as they get the money. Lecturers are not good at teaching at all and some should even be banned from teaching. My advisor of studies is no help at all and basically has no experience in his field of giving advice. I would not anyone want to go through the same things as I did.
