University of Essex all the way!!! The university is super sup awesome!!!! Really great campus with lots to do all the time such as societies events and sporting events as well as night outs in our very own nightclub on campus! One of the most attractive thing about the uni is that the uni has one of the coolest lift in the library that you probably cannot find anywhere else!!! Although they do say not to go all the way round them, let's be honest, you will HAVE to go all the way round at least once, or twice while you are here! It is definitely on the to-do list! Another good thing about the uni is that it has a very big careers centre which gives out advice and hold events that would provide more insights to job futures and I find that very very helpful!

It is a great university for first year students. Really relaxing atmosphere but some crazy night outs on campus grounds! Many clubs and societies to join with really good facilities. The sports hall has really good grounds though it may be better if the changing facilities are a big bigger as it gets very crowded if a whole team needs to change at the same time. The food on campus is quite good if you are into some American fast food and the occasional Chinese and curry nights as well as some pizza and really good cheesy nachos!

Uni is alright. 1st year I didn't really like because it was really hard to make friends with completely new people in a completely new environment but 3rd year is ok. The staffs are very supportive if you have problems. With just one email to ask for a meeting and they will reply you straight away to decide on a date and a time to discuss any problems you have. I stayed in the towers during the 1st year because it was the cheapest but it was also a good way to make some friends from the start because you have around 15 people on one floor though it was really noisy sometimes when I really want to work. The library is really good with lifts that you can't find anywhere else! Make sure to join clubs and make lots of friends and make the most of your time because uni is a once in a life time chance!

The uni is nice, not the best for vibrant social party life though the SU do put on events every night at our own social space which caters for all types of music lovers such as metal as well as pop disco. The uni has quite a relaxed atmosphere around campus and there are also always something going on in the squares such as promotional stalls as well as charity fundraising which makes the uni not always so quiet. The uni accommodation is very nice and the room sizes are really good. There is a big range of sports clubs and societies that you can join from archery to harry potter society!

The SU needs to focus less on nights out and put more of our money into student support. Academic side of the uni is fine but should have more support around exam times. South Courts needs to freshen up with new carpets and lighting because it is all fading. Overall the uni is good. Colchester itself is pretty dull because it is an old town with not much in it. Though it is very close to the seaside so you can always get some good seafood when you are free!

Uni is small so it is easy to walk around and get familiar with where things are, such as restaurants and computer labs. There are many computer labs on campus and some are 24 hours so this really helps when I need to concentrate on working instead of lounging around at home. The modules available are of a wide range and means that most area of interests can be covered. There a many sporting clubs and societies to join and participate. Staffs are very friendly and lecturers are always willing to help if you do not understand something. Overall the uni is very attractive if you are not after somewhere with a lot of city life and miles to walk between your classes.

Excellent uni. Smaller size allows for a high level of interaction with the world-class lecturers. From Nobel-prize winners to UN advisors, Essex really does have a bloody good set of faculties. Rated as one of the top Social Science universities in the UK, and with some Departments (e.g. Government) among the best in Europe. It is also the most internationally diverse campus in the UK (with around 500international students), and ranked as second in the UK in terms of student satisfaction.
