The school of health sciences (HSC) at the UEA is an incredible and inspiring place to be and to study. All teach and supporting staff and incredibly helpful and supportive to students, and I am immensely grateful for their continuous support, gentle guidance and innovative education. I don't feel spoonfed with information, but rather inspired to know and learn more. The professionalism and empathetic nature of all the staff at HSC was further highlighted during the pandemic when they did above and beyond to make the students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn. I feel ready and prepared to enter the workforce and for this I am so grateful!
Definitely money well sent on this course. Course material is holistic and encompasses so many fields of the OT profession. An incredibly good start of my career.
Norwich is a beautiful and full of character city offering lots of entertainment from pubs, restaurants, museums, parks, night clubs, etc. The city is relatively safe for women, non-binary, and people of colour with lots of support available. The public transport is the least to say BAD and so unreliable. Sometimes it is just better to walk. The costs of living in Norwich are manageable, especially if you have a part-time job, which is available in so many sectors including on the premises of the university.
There are a lot of clubs with a activities for leisure time. Courses are delivered well.
Blended learning. Lectures are good. Placements are good and you experience a range of areas. Skills sessions are useful. It would be good to be able to access drop in skills sessions.
The halls are located close to everything. Small but that is expected.
Student services and lecturers are always so involved and available for help with general issues and assignments. So many places on campus to study. Norwich is a great place to live.
Lecturers are so helpful and enthusiastic. Content is really fun, I look forward to every lecture. Delivery is really good and well planned out.
Uni isn’t in the city centre but only about a 10 minute drive away. So many amazing places to eat and drink. Lovely market and independent shops.
I couldn’t give u an answer to either question it’s sort of just an average place
All teaching has been in person with the option of online if you get sick which is good.
There is lots to do in the city but UEA is slight outside of the city and the bus is expensive. The travel to and from Norwich is very expensive and is long
Didn’t look very nice. Kitchen wasn’t great but couldn’t have been closer or my lectures.
UEA midwifery is super inclusive, encouraging all students to get involved with life on campus. The campus buildings exteriors are a little dated but the facilities are amazing. Support is available 24/7 from staff in some form.
We’re the first year on the new curriculum so there’s been a few teething problems; mainly with a major timetabling error. However as soon as this was noted the uni did an investigation into how this happened and how best to fix it. The lecturers are inspiring and approachable. Has been difficult being such a big cohort whilst on placement as there’s sometimes more students than midwives, but there’s a really nice system in place to work with other students on shift which is nice.
UEA has a brilliant campus and lots of events. The student support services and tutors can take a while to get back to you, but once they do they are usually very helpful.
The course as a whole is excellent but can be very adult nursing focused considering it’s supposed to be a child field based course.
The uni is very beautiful with a nice lake and facilities. The instructors are awesome, and the lab spaces are excellent for practicing hands on skills! The course as a whole seems a little disjointed would be my one negative. Lack of structure so it makes me feel a little lost at times.
Amazing instructors! Course is a little disjointed. Definitely a lack of structure. The “learn it yourself” type of content takes some getting used to but really gets you prepared for the real world
Amazing campus and city location, great area for student life with lots to see and do. Great facilities and lots of opportunities to get involved across campus
Amazing facilities on campus, placement mentors are all great. Uni staff don’t offer much support whilst on placement and some aspects of the course content need to be organised better
Beautiful city with something to offer everyone. Great mix of student activities and more chilled things to see and do
Great value for money, not as social as on campus accommodation but still plenty of opportunities to make friends
I've found great support at University, both academically with my lecturers and advisors who are approachable, helpful and friendly - but also the student services for mental health and wellbeing have helped me considerably in the past. There are events on all the time, but as someone living off campus these are not as accessible to me.
As a learning disabilities nursing student I feel not enough of the content has been course specific and most teaching has been generalized nursing, if it wasn't for LD specific placements/work experiences I would feel the course was not providing enough. The pace of learning has been really good and appropriate for students like myself with no nursing/care history.
Haven't had the best experience due to covid, so most of our course has been online.
Great
