There is a lot of support for students such as academic skills built into modules in the form of seminars. This is very helpful for all students, especially those who haven't been in education recently and who have had to start writing academically for assignments. Additionally, lecturers are very approachable and happy to help with any learning queries. The events put on by the students' union are very fun and inviting, such as a film night. The only thing that I would improve about my experience studying here is it would be nice if we could have some comfier lecture halls that have charging plugs located nearby. The current wooden chairs in my lecture halls make it difficult to want to sit through 2 hour lectures.

The less spread out timetable makes it much more reasobable for commuting students There are not many activities or events in the other campuses

I love living in Chester, the surroundings of the uni are amazing and it's lovely being so close to the city. The facilities here are very good for my course and are continually being updated. I have found recently that the student space to study is getting smaller with department expansions and support isn't being offered to help those who can't go home during the day. i havent participated in many student union events this year but i can see they are making a great effort to be inclusive and try to get everyone involved although the booking systems on the app could use an update as the previous version was better.

It can be improved by providing better facilities in other campuses not just Exton park. Better IT systems are needed to improve student experience. Better library facilities as well are needed. I really like the week being and legal 24/7 support free of charge for students. It has deffo helped me loads of times!

the university has been so supportive of me and encouraged me to keep going with my course even when it felt hard. Lecturers are so nice and knowledgable, they are readily available to help when it is needed. I have been offered a lot of opportunities to be able to build my CV and make me stand out once I graduate.

Best - Some lecturers are really supportive, smaller classes than at big Unis. Community feel. Frequent events. Lots of societies. Great academic skills team and SU. Good free fitness classes. Lots of nice plants and flowers around campus. Worst - Some lecturers aren't very supportive with assignments. Both academic and wellbeing support services should be made more obvious/accessible. Food on campus is a bit expensive. Some issues with inconsistent timetabling and low amount of teaching hours.

The community feel of Chester University is what makes it stand out. You aren't seen as a number, the staff make a conscious effort to get to know you for who you are. The only thing I would change is maybe improving some of the facilities. However, the University are already making an effort to do this and update the buildings and social areas. So this is in process.

The uni is great at helping you with personal issues. The main issue is that you can only really make friends and socialise with people in the law building because it’s a 25 minute walk away from the student union and main campus and a 15 minute walk into town.

One of the greatest strengths of the University is the people. Lecturers are approachable, supportive and deeply invested in student development. You are treated as an individual rather than a number, and there is a strong sense that staff genuinely want students to succeed both academically and personally. Teaching is engaging, clear and encouraging, and there is real space for creative exploration rather than purely formulaic learning. An area that would make the student experience even stronger is enhanced, more structured support for securing placements in creative industries, particularly graphic design. Additional placement partnerships, clearer routes into industry and more direct links with creative agencies would further strengthen employability outcomes and help students transition confidently into professional practice.

-City itself is great, beautiful city and history and architecture, everywhere is easily accessible. -Student support could be better, heard and seen a lot of things that I feel is very unfair and not taken seriously -Facilities in the Kingsway campus is great, the campus itself is great, the location is in a bit of a strange area and is a bit far away from the main campus.

For midwifery the simulation suite and resources to learn and practise skills are great, and the wheeler building is in a very central location and a lovely part of the city.

Chester is a great city to live as a student and the medical building is easy to access. Communication and staffing on the course needs improvement.
