I have enjoyed the placements, and been given good opportunities to learn
The University has been very supportive throughout the course and offer lots of opportunities.
The university is very nice, the course is really good and the lecturers are helpful
The placement variation in Chester is great, there is several community and inpatient settings where you gain invaluable experience. The culture at UoC is very supportive and there are always people around to help you through the journey.
I have loved studying at Chester uni. The staff are so incredibly supportive and I have really enjoyed my entire course.
Facilities are good but we don’t get to do many lab practicals , the union bar is always quiet, food is pretty good but the portions sometimes are shocking for the price, shop is good and always stocked, library is great especially quiet study , gym is pretty poor but it has everything basic and it is kept in good condition by the staff just needs some more funding
The criminology team are so supportive in all aspects of learning - they encourage you to explore your thoughts and help you develop your ideas.
The university is quaint, but that matches the feel of the city of Chester so if that’s what you’re after you’ll love it.
Worst- lecture theatres are falling apart, are active building sites, or have pigeons living in the ceiling Best- good lab facilities, lecturers are very helpful and approachable
I love chester and the location
The curriculum is great for international students.
Facilities and Tutors are fantastic; all of the tutors go above and beyond to help with your studies and will support you with everything. I can't fault the medical school; they have made drastic changes in my time here, and it's all for the better. The lectures are fun but also gave me knowledge that I can apply in real employment, and have prepared me for working in healthcare. I feel this is down to having staff who have worked in the industry, which I believe is why I have enjoyed my time here and feel i am prepared for the future. I think the style of assessments has also helped me prepare for the real world, poster presentations and case studies have helped me widen my knowledge without the stress of exams. As a student who has Anxiety and also struggles with chronic pain, I have received fantastic support from staff from first year all the way to third, and this has made my uni experience much more enjoyable.
The course is engaging, well‑structured, and consistently connected to real‑world practice. The tutors go above and beyond to make each lecture stimulating, and they are always willing to offer support. They respond promptly to emails and provide additional guidance whenever needed, which creates a genuinely supportive learning environment. The campus facilities are excellent, including a modern gym with a swimming pool that remains affordable and accessible for most students. A variety of cafés and an on‑site shop also make it easy for students who commute, like myself, to access food throughout the day. There is a wide range of activities, societies, and social events available; however, as a commuting student, I sometimes find it difficult to hear about them or know when they meet. The campus itself is compact and easy to navigate, with everything within comfortable walking distance. The only challenge arises when walking to the Chester Medical School building, as there is currently no pedestrian crossing directly in front of it, which can make access less straightforward.
It is a 10min walk outside of the city center and has an amazing catering team that is always friendly and welcoming. The pe lecturer has an amazing attitude which rubs off and makes learning so much fun. It could be improved by better communication between staff and students as on a few ocassions there has been cases of miscommunication and confusion caused by the lack of communication between staff
Firstly, I believe Chester University is fantastic! From how welcoming it was during orientation week, the campus itself, the online platforms used during your studies and the great facilities. While it may appear like a small university, it has so many sporting and society opportunities; if you are brave and inspired enough, you could even make your own society too! What I really love about Chester is the fact that it is a smaller city, steeped in history, beautiful canals and walkways and a wide variety of top-notch cafes and restaurants. Not to mention a whole street of second-hand shops to ensure that you are dressed for every semester at a bargain. As a mature international student I was hesitant to come back to University but the staff were very helpful throughout the whole process, and I have loved coming and establishing a life away from home here. The one small component I think could be improved is time-tabling. It can be hard to find a routine and balance when the class timetable changes during the semester. I would prefer to have the classes on one day rather than spread out.
The staff are really supportive, although the facilities aren’t the best the students and staff are all really lovely and supportive.

I think the best aspects of this university are the support from lecturers and the additional schemes they offer. The ask team and careers team are extremely helpful at building my confidence contributing to me gaining experience in internships and getting a graduate interview!

Chester university has been such a great place to complete my nursing course. The staff have been so supportive throughout the 3 years. I would highly recommend this university.
