The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

Amazing, the university of buckingham is the home away from home I was looking for! The support is second to none and if I ever have any questions I know there will always be someone to help me.
Not sure just yet as I am in my first term, but when I wanted to change courses from a combined to a singular, I had a lot of staff around me who were all so helpful in helping me make the right decision for my future
I love the small group sizes as everyone gets involved. I don’t have anything bad to say!
The uni is great in terms of distance to accommodation and buckingham has a few nice eateries, things to do and supermarkets
Absolutely outstanding. Tutors, careers, students first and the disability team are all incredibly supportive and helpful.
Really good! Freshers was a positive experience and so far I am really enjoying being a part of the university. I have enjoyed all my course content so far and the staff have been so welcoming. All future students should know that they are making a good choice if they come here!
They provide academic workshops and a drop in service as well as careers advice and an online portal where we have access to graduate opportunities.
I like the fact that we are able to see our lecturers whenever we have a problem or we need to ask a question. We are supported throughout our studies. Teaching is in small groups and they offer tutorials which are in small sizes to allow everyone to contribute and discuss ideas together. I enjoy all of these aspects. I can’t think of anything I don’t enjoy!
Students Union is amazing! Always throwing events and can go to them if need support as well
Very good! The cafes are nice and they are reasonably priced. The libraries are large and offer plenty of study space. The lecture rooms and seminar rooms are spacious. All of the facilities are useful.
Yes, close to town centre and everything I need
Loads of sports societies on offer
A wide range of support is offered and the university staff are always there to help you no matter what the issue is.
Due to it being smaller, your friends really become family which I’ve loved having moved away from home. The support is also incredible and the lecturers/tutors really care about your progress.
The careers department is always willing to help and we have great speakers etc.
The lecturers and tutors really care about you but I wish there was less group work.
We have a brilliant students union who are always willing to listen to students.
They could be improved but the university is trying to do so.
Yes, it’s in walking distance from the main town and 20 mins drive from Milton Keynes.
There are a good range of sports and societies. I wish the attendance and facilities to hold, especially sporting, events were more extensive.
Extremely good. I’ve had a brilliant experience so far
Really amazing university experience. I love being here and it feels like home as it is a small university and a small town so everyone gets to know each other.
I like how the course has early clinical placements(from term 2 itself) and how it is very integrated. The short time span could be really hectic though and the information delivered could be a little bit more streamlined.
SU facilities are really good. During the day, you have the refractory, serving hot food and the bar as well, which opens at night. There is a gym and other social areas as well.
Excellent student support and very approachable staff
Yes. It is withing walking distance for central university locations and a ten minute walk from the town. There are corner shops very closeby too.
A wide variety of sports. I loved the going society the most. Could have more societies but I am happy with what's there
Academic support is really good. Staff is really approachable for any queries you have and they are really friendly as the class sizes are small and you get to know the tutors really well. Personal support has been absolutely amazing and the student support has helped me so much within a short span of time.
My experience so far has been amazing, freshers I felt very welcome and in my lectures I have been made comfortable and able to learn due to the small class sizes.
They have workshops were businesses come in and you can create relationships with those in work and have the opportunity to start up your career
I like the fact it is small classes and easily communicated, I would like if they recorded the lectures and sent them to us to refer to
It is amazing, very friendly and take on board your queries and facilities are really good
Very good, I have everything I need here, library, gym, chilling areas and the bar
It is a short walk to the town centre, which has the majority of things you need. But it is a 20 minute drive to the two closest shopping centres, Bicester and Milton Keynes
There is a huge range of societies which covers everything, if they do not have something you can create it yourself.
Tutors feedback is good, on turnitin so it is very detailed and counselling is good, staff are very polite and caring
