Sort:Latest reviewsThe best thing about the university so far is the staff support (especially reception!), night life, exercise classes and the accommodation. Reception always feels like a comfortable place to hang out. The classes are super affordable and enjoyable. The accommodation is comfortable and any issue is solved quite speedily. The only negative on campus is there is not much around. The countryside is beautiful but there's not many shops, all of them require transport or 25+ minutes walk.
There should be an easier and cheaper as it is litterally london prices with a way to get to town specifically from falmer campus and more things like shops nearby and have nicer people on campus.
I love fine art and craft. If you are like that too I would highly recommend printmaking & if you are thinking about fine art in Brighton make sure you have a look at the printmaking department too at the top of the building
I love the study spaces available on campuses, and how they are available to everyone. I wish there were more quiet options for people to study in, other than just the library.
Best aspects are the lecturers Worst aspect would be some of the campus buildings are quite run down

Very central, great staff - both academic and support, although not nearly enough of them. Catering facilities drastically reduced without any consultation or notice. Building is a bit run down in parts ie old lift and toilets and not much cleaning seems to take place. It seems as if the Arts are being run down in favour of Sports and accommodation, which is expensive and not fully used. Every opportunity is taken to cut costs whilst the cost of a degree goes up. Amazing facilities for weaving, fabric design, printing, photography, 3-D design, but they are not talked about, marketed or just simply cut - not very good.
18-24 years
Location is good and accessible via Brighton, moulsecoomb station. Staff are relatively friendly. Wide range of engineering facilities to take advantage of for my Dissertation I don’t mind that it’s small as im here to learn. Improvements is SU, they are more focused on partying which majority wants but I wish they ca bring back sailing tryouts in summer and winds surf that was sick!
The university is so welcoming. They encourage student to student connections and friendships from the moment you start first year. It could be improved by creating more opportunities for students to talk to lecturers.
Staff are so supportive, and will check on you if they think you're struggling - both on work and mentally
The campus does not have a shop or anything to so feels a bit far away from everything
Best: Great city and campus is not too far, students all live in the same areas, enjoyable module options Worst: food prices on campus, student exchanges are inaccessible and not given enough support
Great place to study- the staff and students are all lovely, plenty of support. 3 different campus all easy to get it and good location in regards to the city, If applying through clearing there is a limited accomdation options though
The student union bar shuts very early. The library was not open for the start of term. Some of the older buildings are very run down. Very long queues at times in the canteens. The communal areas could be bigger with more seating.
I love how close it is to the beach and the transport links to London. I don’t like how busy it is though. Could be improved with more toilets
The course leads, staff, lecturers, seminar leads etc are all incredible. If you need extra help / have more questions they’re always quick at responding to emails and helping you in person. Great city life, lots to do as a student (and good student deals). Good location of a campus, doesn’t take too long to get into town centre where everything is. Facilities and building are always very clean, especially the toilets. Good prices for food in the shop and cafeterias.
An excellent campus that feels modern and offers lots of useful facilities. It's also very well connected by being right next to Falmer train station, and therefore offers a great student life by being so close to central Brighton. Staff and lecturers are all incredibly friendly and make themselves approachable. Only criticism is that many of the lectures are unnecessarily long. 3 hours per lecture is very challenging for anyone to sit through or fully process, especially when the lectures themselves feel designed to last 1-2 hours. It drags and is an ineffective use of everyone's time. Give nursing students more practical lessons, especially as most of the practical training rooms that go unused every day. Anyways, good uni.
All of the lecturers are very kind and help you with any work you need. The environment of the uni is very welcoming and very inclusive.

It's flexible and right next to the train station, so it’s good for students that like to go home on weekends! However, it’s also in the city for those who like to stay on the university campus. The staff is very supportive and helpful.
I don’t agree that your semester grade can be on one exam or presentation - all it takes us for someone to have had a bad week or a bad start to their morning and they’ve just filled their exam because of one bad experience when they could be a really good student
My room was broken into when I was inside we did have security contacted straight away who waited outside overnight incase they came back however I’ve heard nothing about it since and I was told I’d be contacted over the summer and I wasn’t which has left me confused and a bit uncomfortable with the lack concern from the staff
