Sort:Latest reviewsI enjoy studying at the university of Brighton due to the quality of my course. All my teachers are engaging and helpful when I have any questions regarding the course/assignments. I think the uni could improve a lot when it comes to its disabled students. I do not get enough access support to help me both academically and socially, this is partly due to my absence but I strongly believe that students who are obviously struggling to attend should recieve more than an automated email once their attendance hits a certain percent. It would be helpful if the support team was more pro active in helping students get back on track with their studies and in finding support for problems outside of university. The lack of gender neutral bathrooms in certain buildings is a glaring issue and as a trans person I never use the bathroom due to how uncomfortable of an experience it is, this creates so many problems for both trans people and disabled people, as many disabled single space bathrooms also double as a pseudo gender neutral bathroom. Trans people should not be made to feel like they are disabled and disabled people deserve access to bathrooms at all times.
The university is really nice, lectures and lecturers are really good! The night life is really good and the people I've met are all amazing !

The falmer doesn’t have many shops close, the closest is mouscombe but bus prices are increasing and not many student union events.
The best is my law degree is great. The worst is term times are a long time. We pay a lot of money to go to uni, but am never there.

The university of Brighton is a brilliant place to study because it is at the heart of Brighton a d is close to so many shops restaurants and other amazing places plus it is close to the sea too.
The engineering facilities are great and there's so many different skills you can learn in there, however some of the other facilities (lecture halls etc) are outdated and often too small for my class. All three libraries across the campuses are very nice and the student union ran facilities are great. The main downfall is that there isn't much of a uni campus feel as the uni is split over there different sites.

What makes brighton university a great place a study is the night life, as it is very nearby to brighton centre and it is a great way to socialise with others and make good connections with others. Another good thing is that public transport is very easily accessible as there are many train and bus stations nearby each campus. One thing that could be improved about Falmer campus more specifically is the location of it. There are not really any nearby shops as you would need to get a 30 minute bus to the nearest supermarket and would love to add more shops and social places (such as a bar or a pub) nearby or within the campus.

It's honestly the most inclusive and accepting place to study. The campuses itself aren't the prettiest but the vibes are great. Despite not being a prestigious university, it is always trying to get the best opportunities for it's students
Best aspects: One of the best things about studying at the University of Brighton is how supportive the lecturers are. They’re approachable and always willing to help, which makes a big difference, especially during stressful periods. The courses are very practical and relevant, so you feel like you’re actually learning skills you’ll use in the future. Brighton itself is also a huge plus – it’s a lively, creative city with lots to do, and it feels welcoming and inclusive for students. Worst aspects / improvements: That said, there are a few things that could be improved. Communication can sometimes be confusing or last-minute, which can be stressful when juggling deadlines. Some buildings and facilities feel a bit outdated, and study spaces can get really crowded during peak times. Better organisation around timetables and more available quiet study areas would definitely improve the overall experience.
Best aspect is being right in the city center.
As an estranged student myself, I have found Brighton university to be very supportive. I feel as if Brighton University could be improved through a reduction in 9am lectures.
I enjoyed the eastbourne campus originally as it was convenient but the train station is right at the bottom of the falmer so it is easy to get too. Lots of seated areas and the falmer campus is for sport and health sciences and teaching courses so all in similar mindsets
The best aspects have been the location, the facilities and gaining knowledge from my talented peers. The worst aspects have been the diabolical costs of printing and campus food as well as how many times the printer has issues which ends up wasting too much time.
Three of the first things that come to mind in terms of why brighton uni is a great place to study is the support from teachers and services at the school is amazing, the student run society's are so fun and versatile and brighton uni are really supportive with student funds as well with so many opportunities on making money and job applications which is so helpful when a student.
The Falmer campus is quite isolated from any shops and supermarkets and it would be great to have another student union bar in Falmer as the only one is in the Moulsecoomb campus so it would improvement having a space local to those living in Falmer. Aldrich library study rooms also feel a bit like a prison and an improvement can be made to the lighting in those rooms.

The lecturers are nice and helpful but there should be more encouragement and advertisement on activities + making friends etc
some aspects of the course are not relevant to my future study but hours are good and attentive
Comfortable to stay in and relax but far from uni location requiring additional money for bus (despite being cheapest option) and facilities don't work a lot of the time
