I really enjoyed my college experience, leant a lot and it has given me a good platform to access the sports industry. The social aspect was good and lots to do on an evening when work didn't take priority. With an improvement in the sports specific facilities there would be a higher quality influx of students which I feel would make the college more appealing.
Industry specific skills were learnt and contacts were also gained through Myerscough and Andrew Fletcher. Since moving on from the course I have been able to gain a job with a contact that was made through the course.
most- interactive, engaging and always open to discussions least- sometimes lectures weren't specific to the module information packs which meant some information was being learnt that wasn't needed.
The gym facilities were accessible however not big enough. Other than that there was difficulty in accessing a Physio which understood cricket. Also, the nets and practice facilities were a poor standard when you consider being on a cricket course.
Tutor feedback was excellent, with a high amount of detail being given on assessments and this helped me learn and improve.
The college is a brilliant place to learn and the tutors are really good also. I would recommend anyone to learn at Myerscough college for an enjoyable time after school or even as a mature student. There will not be a better place in my opinion.
It gives you many avenues to venture down in sports coaching, with the abilities you learn at Myerscough, it’s not just based round the coaching structure, it also teaches you about the body and means and ways of being an elite sportsman yourself. With the facilities there is on site it got me so much more interested about the fitness and strength and conditioning side of sport.
Giving an honest opinion on my time at Myerscough college there was nothing I didn’t like about the course. The course was fantastic and taught me lots of things in the sporting environment. The practical lectures were always a favourite for me.
Fantastic for every sport. There is plenty on site for everyone. The only thing it doesn’t have is an on site outdoor cricket facility, but there is plenty in the area.
There is lots of support from the tutors whenever you need there help, they were really good to approach when needed and really good as people aswel.
was amazing would recommend to all deffo a way to develop yourself as a great person and work on your transferable skills for development into a career was really good
providing you with transferable skills for later life especially with the cricket course it provides a good pathway straight into employment
good teaching helpful through the year with extra advice for assignments and all amazing experience
amazing with newly built facilities to use was a great help for the learning curve and progression
was really good, great help for the passing of my course
Really enjoyed everything about the course. Would have liked better cricket facilities at the campus but the use of old Trafford indoor centre every week makes up for it
Always encouraging you to take part in as many opportunities as possible to gain valuable experience.
Very good teaching they’re always giving opportunities
Facilities are good but for cricket the outdoor facilities aren’t the best. Sports hall could be bigger for cricket but you get to use old Trafford every week which is excellent
My overall university experience is going very well and been very good. My 2 years at myerscough flew by and I had a lot of fun learning new skills everyday and gaining a variety of different experiences throughout my time. I am now at UCLAN doing my top up degree. The 2 years made my decision so easy on deciding to carry on with education
Helped with getting work within the LCB with helping at events and schools, helped with looking at future jobs when finishing the course and what type of skills you need for the jobs. Always gave you the opportunities to go out coaching and gaining experience in the field of work you are wanting to go into after the course
Most - all the lectures were engaging and got everything taught what was required for that specific lecture Least - the gaps between each lecture is too big which can cause lack of attendance in the next lecture and you switch off and get tired of doing nothing in the gap between the lectures
Facilities are very good. Loads of different facilities which are easily accessible all throughout the day such as the 3G football pitch, golf course and the sports halls
The support you get from the tutors is very good and very useable in the future. The feedback is always quick and relevant on what you need to do to improve for next time. Tutors are always there to speak to in the office, after lectures and via emails.
The course didn’t do a lot for me and think it was poorly run. But I understand that it was new and everything takes time to establish. The social side was a fantastic experience as I’m sure anyone would say!
I personally had no help regarding future endeavours. Minimal work placement was self organised.
It was very new. Our year were guinea pigs and everything was very trial and error. What was offered before I attended was not what was delivered
Not great for our specific sport, however, arrangements were made by the cricket acamademy to allow us to train in very good facilities
Not very good. The course was very trial and error. The tutors were battling with learning the course material and how to deliver it at the same time as trying to support us. It was difficult for them to make everything clear to us, when they didn’t understand it themselves. The whole college was very segmented. So you didn’t always feel comfortable seeking support across the whole college not just the course.
Loved every second, the friends I have made are life long and the experiences I gain from the course and tutors has helped me in my feild of sports coaching be that cricket or anything sports related
My work placements and parts of my course such as doing 120 voluntary hours in sport per year helped me get my full time employment
The only down side was the number of them only having 2 or 3 you only get a limited view on things, when stepping up to uclan this changed
For the course fantastic, the living accommodation depended on which building you were in
Having dyslexia the uni were brilliant with that as were the staff with support
My college experience has been thoroughly enjoyable as well as being valuable as i feel much more comfortable already about entering the golf industry. The tutors are all friendly and approachable. The facilities available to me are excellent and allow me to pursue my goals academically and also my recreational goals
My College provides many visits to different employers within the golf industry, providing a broad view of the careers available to me after my degree. The College also organizes many speakers to come in and talk to us, to also help us get an idea of the type of industry we are looking to enter. My College also organizes work experience with some of the industry's top businesses and employers.
The teaching of my course is very good, every idea, theory and discussion is 100% focused on the industry we are studying for, this also makes the classes very enjoyable as we all have a passion for the subject.
My colleges facilities are excellent, in terms of both academics and also for recreational use. I am able to gain access to recognized technology within the industry i want to enter and i also have access to many academic resources allowing me to develop my studies
The support available to me at my college is excellent, my tutors are also available for a chat about coursework and i am also aware of the counselling available for students at my college
I'm a foreign student, and i'm very pleased that I'm studying at this university, not only my course is very prestigious in here and I'm really enjoying it. All the staff around the college is very hellpfull, anything I need, I know there's always someone willing to help.
.We often get to learn with people from the golf industry, with important positions within big brands. .We also get to work on several european tour events, always being in contact and in the middle of the industry. .All our classes help to develop our skills for possible jobs in the future.
I like that all our classes envolve golf in some way, and I really think that being in contact with people connected and already working in the industry is of great importance for our futures and to get to know what to expect when we graduate.
It's very good, I wouldn't change anything.
Superb, the facilities are excellent and the tutors never fail to impress with the dedication to subject and their interaction with us students. A brilliant uni.
They offer incredible work experience opportunities as well as potential work placements if needed.
I find the content invigorating and the tutelage excellent. I dislike nothing.
Excellent, cannot fault
Both aspects of support have been phenomenal for myself as a new student.
