I would rather if we had more frequent, even if not more total contact time with our tutors. My favourite thing is oscillations, the Monday morning 9am's are much easier because of it.

Some of the fittings such as the toilet flushes are very poor quality and there was a part of the skirting board that isn't attached properly to the wall. However in my experience, maintenance are very swift at coming to fix stuff

I can’t say much as I’ve only been here for 8 weeks, but I think a bit more frequent 1:1 with our tutor would be nice. I think also having a lab partner the first couple weeks of uni would be helpful.

I like that everyone is together in a “student village”. It is hard to access the resident life services and bookings, it would be nice to have access to it via the accommodation portal.

The course material is interesting and is taught in class with opportunities to complete practice question both in and out of contact time. There are a lot of in person course course and out of course hours required in order to meet the course requirements

The halls are surrounded by green space and a clean environment. Inside there is a decent amount of space both in bedrooms and the kitchen so that everyone has space. The halls are quite expensive

It’s great how every lecture is recorded so in the event i miss one i am able to catch up with ease. There are a lot of course hours spread out in the week and so the workload feels less intense and more relaxed. The occasional day in the week is longer than the others and as a result, feels very difficult to make it all the way through. all lecturers offer office hours so i have somewhere to go if i need help with anything.

Compared to other student accommodation in Sheffield, it is very expensive. However you pay for a great student atmosphere surrounded by other people in the same position as you making it a very social and very calm place to be. There are plenty of useful amenities on the site and so I never feel like i’m missing anything.

I genuinely like every part of it, learning is very interactive lecturers are very kind its great

Lifts break easily, showers stop working intermittently but the rest is alright, the edge is very good

WiFi is very bad

Best parts are the tutorial meetings and worse parts are having so much work to do (more than a first year physics student).

Our fridge was replaced when it should have been our freezer

Staff are very friendly and approachable, blackboard notes are clear and detailed. Facilities are old and limited

Certain lecturers are better than others, overall people are easy to contact

Halls are a 30 minute walk from the uni, the ethernet was an absolute pain to use, safety was good, I contacted maintaince about 8 times before they finally fixed the kitchen sink that was leaking all over my stuff in the cupboard below.

My course is challenging hence not many people can teach it, but usually those that do are experts and teach in a way that may not entirely correspond to the student experience level. It may be too fast paced, or topics may be glossed over because they assume it’s ’easy Enough’ leading to stress.
