I'm very surprised about the amount of positive reviews on here, considering my experience and my peers' experiences and the low reviews on other sites. Spoiler: look elsewhere. I’ll start with the positives, because unfortunately there aren’t many. **Positives** 1. The academic mentors were brilliant. I could regularly take draft work to them for feedback before submission, and they were genuinely supportive. 2. The IT department was very helpful whenever I needed assistance. **Negatives** 1. **Student support services were shockingly slow.** I reached out to counselling services and received an automated response warning of delays. I didn’t get an appointment for over two months. 2. **Outdated teaching materials.** Many lecturers used old or poorly prepared PowerPoint slides, often citing sources from the early 2000s. Students are expected to use up-to-date references in assignments, so why is outdated material acceptable from faculty? Some lecturers even appeared to be reusing content from former staff members. 3. **Disengaging teaching.** A lot of lectures consisted of staff simply reading directly from slides without adding meaningful explanation or discussion. Only a small number of lecturers seemed genuinely passionate or knowledgeable about the subject. 4. **Inconsistent marking and feedback.** Assignment requirements varied wildly between lecturers. For example, some counted in-text references in the word count while others didn’t. One of the most frustrating experiences was submitting a draft, being told it was “very good” with only minor changes needed, then receiving extensive criticism after final submission. 5. **Poor placement opportunities.** The course strongly promoted placements in the final year and implied there were established industry partnerships. In reality, we were expected to source our own placements, and the university’s “partnerships” were mostly food banks and community kitchens. While relevant to food in a broad sense, they offered little meaningful experience for aspiring nutritionists. What made this more frustrating was that dietetics students appeared to receive proper placements every year, so the university clearly had the capability. 6. **Weak extracurricular and industry engagement.** Reading weeks and extracurricular activities felt poorly organised and lacking in value. It was only after repeated complaints in the final year that guest speakers from relevant industries and alumni were finally invited in.

The staff and course content is really great so far and I’m feeling excited about my future studies. However, there is a serious lack of water fountains across campus and in lecture theatres. There is also some serious improvement required for the toilets as well as they are pretty outdated and unclean most of the time which isn’t nice. I wish the food was a little bit cheaper, it’s fairly expensive for unis!

The university is located in a very convenient area on the main street. There are many facilities such as food places, library and learning centres. Moreover London metropolitan university is very modern in terms of its style and teaching. It caters to all my needs and I know I can get a lot of support from anyone at the university. The lessons are very engaging and you are informed of the tasks, coursework and exams you have for each module early on so you can prepare

The University has excellent facilities, I feel supported by staff, tutors and Teachers. It has ample space for students to rest or study and splendid cafeteria. The only thing I found some of the rooms it has provided are being misused or not being used properly by students. Overall, the University is great to be in adequate temperature of classrooms and communication is really good and you get your answer instantly. I like the way tutor personally helped us and also encourage us to reach them if we need help. If it works out on the spaces the University availed to the students with optimum utilization, that would be great.

Overall, my experience with this university is very good. After one year and a half of studying, I still find new facilities that this university offer. The campus is very nice, well organised, and they equipped the scientific building at a high standard. Many facilities inside the outside area in campus equipped with tables and chairs, table tennis, canteen, access to computers allover the campus, vast library, gym, pub and others.

Excellent support for coursework and wide range of modules covered on the plus side. On the negative, there is no freedom to choose modules and there is a lack of academic discussion- tutorials are large groups (up to 100) and a much more a lecture than an exploration of topics covered.
