The university experience at Runshaw has been great, making new friends and having the support from the tutors has made the course a great choice for myself as I believe the smaller classes benefited me more than the classes of on average 200.
I feel the university has prepared very well for the future prospects of finding a job. The amount of skills they have helped me gain and become more knowledgeable about the industry will help me when getting a career. The trips (international aid and World Travel Market) have helped make connections within the industry to further.
The trips, opportunities and the range of assessments through exams, presentations, seminars etc has really helped me get the highest grades possible.
Having access to UCLan facilities along with the ones already based at the Runshaw Campus are really good.
The base of the Runshaw campus is in a great location for transport links if you do not want to move out while it is also near a number of restaurants and shops.
Do not get involved because of university work and job but also because we are not based at the bigger UCLan campus.
Staff are always there to help whenever it is needed, through email and are always there if you want to drop in to help. There are also many other forms of support that you can gain through the University that I have not personally used.
so good that I am going to progress onto a third year, however I wish I could stay at runshaw to complete my third year here instead of changing universities! I will miss the atmosphere at runshaw. the support, friends, tutors and overall learning techniques have been brilliant. definitely an unforgettable experience and I am so so pleased I chose to study here.
very well as I have been on many trips such as the world travel market where I was able to network with people and employers in my industry.
I thoroughly enjoyed studying at runshaw adult college as the classes and lectures are in small group sizes, meaning I had more support! my lectures were very supportive with me when I faced difficult personal circumstances and helped me achieve my full potential
the student union are very useful, they came into our classes twice a year to inform us of events and workshops we could get involved with. a very useful tool to have.
the university facilities are great!! especially the wiser workshop where I can have help 3 times a year on my assignments I may be struggling with ! the canteen is good and so is the library and I also have access to a gym if I wanted
great! its close to transport links and restaurants, shops etc. plenty to do and see cheaply for students.
I do not get involved in any club nights or societies as I am a young mum of a 10 month old child.
good as going to do my third year at uclan main campus. and the tutors are very helpful as I wish that I could stay at runshaw adult college to complete my 3rd year at university.
Much opportunity to network with employers ! fab time and yes feel ready to get out there as have more confidence !!
smaller groups so get offered more support through tutors and other members of group
Very informative and get up to date information on the group reps and meetings
the facilities at Runshaw are great with many things on offer to students
nearer to leyland and buckshaw is a quiet area with not many things around although there are local places to go drinks and lunch with friends
I dont get involved in any
The support from the tutors are very good
My overall experience has been good. I have enjoyed making new friends and lots of experiences I can treasure for the rest of my life. I am so pleased with the course I am going to Uclan to top up my degree.
University has helped me with the skills and knowledge to find a job.
The best thing about the course is the trips and guest speakers which help you out when you are completing assignments.
The universities facilities are good as the train station is a short walk away. The food and drink facilities are also excellent with lots of healthy choices on offer.
Buckshaw Village has a train station, Tesco's, Subway and many coffee shops which is great if you like being near local amenities.
The support offered is excellent and helps you with any assignments.
Excellent - Have enjoyed the study and learning about how different businesses work and personal development and am looking forward to carrying on to complete a FD then top up to full Honours Degree at Uclan.
I already had a job and wanted to do something to boost my options for the future. Help with CV and cover letter writing has set me up in case I come to find another position in the future.
Nothing is too hardwork for them - If you are unable to understand something, they take the time and effort to discuss and talk it through thoroughly and put workplace examples in there to help you understand.
Very good - Library is fully stocked and if there is something not there that you need you have the ability to order from another campus
Great experience with fantastic support from tutors who are always willing to help. Tutors are flexible with delivery of content to meet students needs and supportive in achieving high grades
The support at Runshaw is great, with excellent tutor support
Overall Runshaw has been one of my greatest experiences, it is something I will never forget and has helped me in my overall life to make me strive for the best.
Studying at Runshaw has been an amazing experience and has helped me gain not only qualifications but also helped me in life skills too.
The best thing for me was the help provided by the tutors, they go out of their way to help ensure that everyone is doing well and getting the marks they should also they can be very flexible with the time table.
The facilities at Runshaw are great, the Library offers a wide variety of books and is open throughout the day and evening and the use of the UCLan facilities are available to. The canteen is always clean and tidy as are the rest of the college.
There is always many clubs and activities to take part in, I personal didn't have time to take part in these due to outer work and social commitments.
The support offered throughout the university staff is great no staff member can do enough for you. tutor support is always available, they will always find time in their day to see you to help with anything.
Fantastic , loved it and will be carrying on my studying next year to complete my ba hons degree. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is thinking of part time study- I wasn't sure I wanted to but now I'm determined to finish and get my degree
Fantastic course which has but me in good stead to find the job I want
Lecturers are very flexible and always there to lend a hand, give guidance and feedback
Great facilities easy access and lots of space
Very very good support whenever needed. Tutors are flexibile and want you to achieve the highest grade you possibly can - they help you all the way
So far, I have loved studying at Runshaw/UCLan as it offers everything I wanted when studying at a lower cost of £6000 a year which I do believe temps people into studying at Runshaw when you achieve the equivalent degree at the end.
Runshaw does have opportunities for jobs within Mechanical Engineering. However, at this moment I have not looked into it that much as I am only graduating in the summer of 2018.
With Runshaw I like that the class sizes are very small so you able to get more 1:1 help when needed. I also like how the lectures are presented as more of a class discussion rather than a lecturer talk to you in front of a room over 100 people.
I haven't got involved in Student Union at UCLan because the campus is around 20 miles away from where I live and don't justify that travel for the activities which are put on. However, I have done some enrichment activities at Runshaw in the summer months when it has been warm.
I believe Runshaw's facilities are excellent as a college, I'm surprised at how good Runshaw's facilities are compared to some universities which don't offer all the facilities Runshaw do.
N/A as I live at home away from campus/Preston.
I do not participate in clubs & societies as I live at home and study full-time at Runshaw and have no need to go to UCLan.
I have used both academic and personal support at Runshaw, and they are a great help at offering suggestions on how to improve study techniques as well as extra support in maths when I was struggling.
