FIRST YEAR

Real Estate BSc (Hons)

University rating (5)

The University doesn’t overload its students with unnecessary work. There may not be many lecture hours but this gives the students the opportunity to gain experience by working in town. It is so allows the students to have a well-rounded lifestyle of study work and socialising. Many of the Lecturers are from foreign countries. This means that some students struggle to understand the lecture when they are speaking.

I have been enjoying studying at RAU since i started it’s very inclusive, even for people with learning disabilities. Everyone knows each other (the pros of a smaller university) friendly and kind with great staff and student support. good living facilities. Could improve on the food.

Being at RAU is a great experience! I love that it is in a rural setting as this works perfectly for my Agriculture course, we are surrounded by farms making field trips easy a breeze. The staff compliment is absolutely friendly, polite, and eager to help, which makes a world of difference. The campus is a 15 minute walk to town and that's a plus as I do not own a vehicle. Coming from a different continent, however, I am yet to get used to the food!

Rural Land Management with Professional Placement Year BSc (Hons)

University rating (4)

The best would be the interesting activities we do compared to more urban activities such as green laning. In addition to this, the location makes It a great place to go to the local nightclub or bars for a night out and then go for a nice walk on the countryside and a pub visit when you dont feel like going out properly. There is a great team of staff who listen to all the concerns listed by the student representatives allowing for the constant improvement of the course and fixing of any aspects we are unhappy about. The student union has massively improved since last year, arranging more activities and events for students to participate in. It could be improved by having more lecture halls as there are only 2 large lecture halls at the moment due to renovations. More lecture time could be given rather than a larger amount of online working to allow for questions to be answered.

Gets quite boring if you have nothing to do. The university should put on more social activities, either involves alcohol or alcohol free.
