Tell us about your overall college experience so far.
My experience has been great, Petroc has enabled me to further my education with out having to travel. This has worked well for my family, my children and my own work commitments.
Certain lecturers have stood out throughout my 3 years at Petroc , ones that have supported me and guided me towards better and progressive grades.
This course has also given me the drive to maybe continue on towards my PGCE and seek employment within higher education as a lecturer.
How does your college make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Overall I find the lectures supportive and encouraging towards my personal and professional development. I have found the course content highly valuable and has supported my current career and my future career aspirations.
Lecturers have guided me towards being a successful healthcare professional and an asset to my community.
Course and Lecturers
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
I enjoyed all content regarding the course, however would like to have seen individual deadlines for chapters of my dissertation. This would have provided me with more confidence and the ability to make alterations based on the feedback.
My favourite modules were methods and ethics and Concepts.
How many contact hours per week do you have?
How good are your college's facilities?
I have found no problems with the facilities, however would like a print room and larger library on the higher education site and not have to travel to main site.
How good is the support offered by the college? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
I have received consistent levels of feedback and support where and when required.
All Lecturers are available when I require support, however at times due to their work load emails can get left and not responded to in a timely manner.
