Best: Great community feel and inspiring tutors who make studying fun and exciting. It also feels like tutors genuinely care about our wellbeing and are always there to help when possible. Worst: I would say that the student accommodation is quite outdated and some parts of campus need redecorating.
Best: We have a decent amount of contact hours and I really enjoy the variety of subjects we are taught, I feel like it is quite open and broad. I am quite positive about finding a career path after this degree. Worst: The name is confusing for some employers

I think the student support on offer throughout my degree has been very good, I also think the student experience is very good
I think the lectures ignore student opinion a lot of the time and there are some key areas of physics left out of the course content, such as general relativity
I think the university is situated very close to Nottingham and Leicester which allows for students to go to those cities easily, there is also a direct train to London. There are a lot of facilities targeted towards students in the town such as a wide selection of pubs and clubs.
The hall is the cheapest catered hall at the university and is located only a 3 minute walk from the engineering, physics and chemistry buildings. The food is average but is nicer than anything I would cook for myself.

What makes Loughborough such a great place to study? It is a campus-based university with a strong sense of community where every individual is part of the Loughborough family. Loughborough feels like home to me with its endless amenities, comfortable accommodation and plenty of study facilities. Although Loughborough is a small market town, I feel like the University speaks volumes and offers everything that a student needs.
English at Loughborough covers a wide breadth of history and culture, which attracted me to choose Loughborough as my top University. It offers students the chance to study diverse literary areas such as Victorian Literature and take creative writing opportunities. The fact that this course is 100% coursework is highly beneficial because it takes away the stresses of sitting an exam. Coursework assignments also enable me to fully show my understanding of content I have acquired from the lectures and applied to my chosen texts. Lastly, the in-class seminars are very interactive and engaging to share your ideas and collaborate as a group. The course has really helped boost my confidence in my public speaking and being open with my ideas. The contact hours are less than 15 hours, nevertheless there is a lot of emphasis on independent study which is understandable, given the amount of primary and secondary texts that must be read weekly per module. My lecturers are always available when I need them via email and they arrange tutorials to discuss my coursework plans as when I need them, which makes my studies less stressful, particularly during my deadlines.
Situated in the perfect place between town and University, very convenient!

I love Loughborough as it is a campus based university so everything feels so close together and it feels like such a community. I would recommend Loughborough to anyone who is thinking about studying here and couldn't fault it. The facilities are also amazing (although a few do look a bit dated) If you are coming from a big city, Loughborough may seem a bit small and like there isn't much to do, but cities such as Nottingham and Leicester are only a 20 minute train journey away!
I am a first year student so at the moment, the content is quite broad as it has to cover several subjects. The teaching I have had so far has been amazing and the lecturers are always happy to help! The course hours are totally manageable, which gives you time to socialize and for independent study.
