Everything about experience at Loughborough until now was amazing. The university provides very good facilities, from academic ones (study areas, library, etc.) to student social life and personal support (students union, societies, mental wellbeing, carreer development, etc.) and of course sport ones.

The community feel- cultivated through the excellent sporting, co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities- is simply excellent, and to boot, so are the lecturers!

Loughborough University is a friendly place where everyone is welcoming and we always stress the 'family' atmosphere. The lecturers are very helpful and responsive to students' voices too!

The balance of study and work and life is amazing at Loughborough University while excelling in all of them. While Loughborough is in the middle of nowhere, it's just a few minute train or bus ride to either Leicester or Nottingham. I am happy with my choice and am planning to enjoy my time here!

The University campus is beautiful. The student support services (particularly for mental wellbeing and financial enquiries) is very good. The students union generally is fantastic; inclusive and varied events for all students, and good support for students when the Government (and as a result, the University) failed to represent our needs throughout Covid (e.g. full tuition feeds paid despite being off campus, unable to use the educational facilities, and unable to attend lectures, seminars, labs and take advantage of other promised opportunities). Although nothing came of this, the students appreciate their voice being heard. The student life is fun if you drink and / or play sports. Lots of creative events and experiences can be had that are unique to Loughborough. However, I think halls culture can be dangerous because the University gives increased responsibility to students without efficient regulations and training (e.g. control of the finances, influence over younger students social lives, and all without proper training to ensure this power is respected). Most students have seen this power abused in a variety of ways throughout their time at Loughborough. Moreover, the students union does not provide proper, mandatory consent training to all freshers (which other Universities to attempt to mandate, and - in light of recent events in the media - should be a top priority for a campus university). This makes the campus feel considerably less safe.

The campus is very open and there is lots of green space which makes the university feel relaxed and accessible. Also, the union is a great place to work in the day for a change of scenery as well as being open at night for parties and union nights. However, at times I feel the union at night can be a bit samey week on week and so can be a bit boring so maybe more variety of events would help.

Best place to study, do not regret choosing Loughborough over Russell Group universities! Love the student experience, great sporting facilities as well.
