MArch Architecture

University rating (4)

The university is everything I though it would be. It's vibrant, has great tutors for the course of Architecture and have excellent student support. There lots of social activities planned within the Indian society and freshers is popping. The location is excellent with half an hour distance to many major attractions will help you live your best student life with your friends. Also the £3.50 hot meals in the canteen at the library hub is a life saver.

Criminology BSc (Hons)

University rating (3)

The criminology course itself is great. Lecturers are from varied backgrounds with a breadth of personal experience as well as extensive knowledge. I cannot fault the teaching team, they work really hard and provide excellent content. They deserve so much better than the university provides them! But the university itself is really not up to scratch, it feels like LSBU does everything to make students and staff have a hard time. Wellbeing support is abysmal, administrative services are incredibly poor to the detriment of student's futures. Administrative offices simply don't exist so you'll be waiting months for a generic email reply to an urgent request. The buildings are falling apart/ despite being newly built, barely any toilets work, lecture rooms are really awful to study in (very little natural light, either horribly hot or cold), nothing is ever clean. Accessibility is atrocious (constant broken lifts and inadequate facilities for disabled students) meaning disabled students miss lectures and seminars. University policy around online attendance is contributing directly to making this university inaccessible to disabled students. Food and drink provision is expensive and not allergy friendly at all. If, as a student, you need your university to be integral to your life I would avoid LSBU. But if you can attend lectures and seminars and engage with the content on your own terms the teaching team are fantastic.

Information Technology BSc (Hons)

University rating (4)

LSBU is located in the heart of London and is surrounded by famous landmarks. The university has excellent transportation links. However, we do not have an open field to play sports, nor a swimming pool, although we do have LSBU Active, which is a limited facility.

Food Sciences PhD

University rating (3)

I feel everything is okay but management needs a bit change to understand the students perspectives and needs, that too soon I think is going to happen. And student life here at LSBU is all good but few changes will make better future.
