Overall I have had a very good experience here.
I have been taught vital info that will help me in IT industry.
The best part of the course are the programming units.
Don't get involved.
Because I have not looked into them.
All my tutors offer good support with any issues I have.
Happy with course overall.

I've loved it, my course fits perfectly and I have furthered my knowledge and experience beyond what I would learn alone as an apprentice within a laboratory. This means I can look to changing departments. Also by studying further I can change my entire career!
Exceptionally well, the level of practical and theoretical guidance covers you for both the qualification and real hands on work for employment. All equipment is available with a lot of guidance. Safe procedures are always taught and then strictly monitored to ensure we all follow, this instills good health and safety practice to take back to our own laboratorys. The class size is moderate and there is one teacher and an assistant available, which means there is plenty of one on one tutoring available for anybody struggling/catching up. Tutors are readily available out of hours for essay/homework advice via email which is incredible valuable.
The lecturer is hands on, he speaks from prior knowledge and experience. Some laboratorys adapt to their own ways and techniques and he understands that technology is always changing and new devices and practices take hold in our laboratorys, so he endeavours to keep up to date and modern within our education. He instills good health and safety practice and strictly enforces these, which we can take back to our own laboratorys. This means as young students we can actively begin to protect our health and know we can access help from governing bodies where hazards are concerned. Though some students may sigh at the extra rigmarole associated with health and safety practices, as an employee in a laboratory, I can see only too often the negative impacts dental laboratorys can have on the older generations of technicians from old habits (licking porcelain brushes, no face masks, touching chemicals by hand) and poor practices are often picked up by younger apprentices learning on the job! The importance of Heath and safety for our future health cannot be underestimated!!!!
Brilliant, I was a student rep and portrayed the voice of our class, we were listened too and have seen our requests met. More importantly these arrived through our time in education and not for the future students!
Exceptional, we have a restaurant on site, a great place to meet and relax. Good food is provided. The classroom has modern equipment required to keep up to date with ever changing practices. Every student has access to each learning material, there is no need for sharing in pairs! Plenty of materials and products for working with available, examples are easily accessible in glass cabinets for referring to.
I'm a country kind of person. I don't like the city, I disliked having to get a train in and walking to the building. When I gained access to a car of my own, I could drive and the uni provides more than adequate car parking for free which is a HUGE relief when your anxious of city life!! I know I can park up, free of charge, I won't be in a rush looking for parking space, I don't have to worry about how long I stay for and it's safe and accessible for the winter nights when I may be on my own!
I'm only attending part time so they don't tie in with the work commitments I also hold.
Exceptional. My mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and the tutor support, the extra mentoring for the days I had to take off to care for my mother and the counselling from student support was an immense help and ensured I completed the year despite my difficulties. At the time my employer wasn't very sympathetic to my circumstances and yet tutor was there to turn to for all kinds of advice.
Having previously studied a similar course at the same college 15 years earlier i felt that standards had dropped dramatically in all areas. I felt sorry for the lecturers as i had the feeling they felt they were fighting a difficult battle constantly and that there moral was exceptionally low. I had considered moving out of industry and into a career as a lecturer in further / higher education myself but seeing the conditions i would not entertain it.
N/A. I was already in employment.
A chance to mix with other people in the same industry and discover alternative solutions.
Love it, as a mature student it's even better. I have no need to impress anyone and have the experience to actually sit back and enjoy myself for once. The tutors were very helpful and a breath of fresh air amongst all the BS that HE often brings.
The one to one support.
Don't do that sort of stuff. I really don't see the point.
Again, I really don't see the point.
I was offered unlimited support by all the tutors.
