The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

I have probably had one of the worst experiences at uni that anybody has ever had, I lived on campus for two years which is far away from everything and I didn't have any friends as I was put in a flat with third years both times
They don't really
I like that the power points get put online I don't like the way that the lecturers leave us to do the work when we don't know what we're doing
Its been fairly good so far with minor issues here and there that have mainly been resolved. Going to university was my best decision and I've had so many great opportunities because of it.
I like the variety of modules offered and how supportive the staff are.
Good links to city centre and close to supermarket
I have enjoyed my course so far and I have found that I am doing better in my work and I am understanding everything on the course. I have also enjoyed the social side of University
The student's union offers advice on careers and placements and also helps with development of employable skills. There are placements and semesters available abroad for students who want to go into careers where this is useful
I like the way the course is set out with our seminars as they can be very interesting and the course material can be very engaging. I have done well to complete my essays I have had assigned. Some lecturers have not been as engaging with classes but the majority of students still do well in essays
The students union is very engaged with the university student body and seem to offer a lot of options in terms of advice and skills teaching
There is a good canteen and food services on campus, the library is open 24 hours and offers good services. The student bar is also good but closes at 11 so could possibly open later
The University is very close to city centre which is very convenient and the area it is located in is very quiet and pleasant
There is quite a few choices for societies and a wide variety of sports but perhaps not as many societies as I was expecting
There is some good support offered by the students union and the staff body
I have found leeds trinity amazing, although i wish that there were more things to do on campus (especially more societies), in terms of learning my course is excellent and i love my accommodation so first year has been great so far.
I am pleasantly surprised at how good my uni is with helping with placements and career opportunities. I feel that i am in safe hands.
I love that most of my course is taught as seminars so they are extremely interactive and it is a great place to meet new people and have valuable discussions about the course and topics
There student union is great, they keep on top of student life very well. Again, wish there were more things to do on campus though
The facilities are good. There is a great library with 24 hour services and there is great disability and mental health support.
The accommodation is right by the actual uni and its facilities which is amazing and we are quite close to the city centre for shopping purposes.
There is not a great variety in societies i wish there were more options but in terms of sports there are a lot of choices in that field
Our feedback for essays etc is excellent i feel that the tutors are very critical but in a good way where i can learn from my mistakes. There are always open hours and they are very responsive to emails with any questions i may have. The counselling and disability facilities are great i have heard good things about them.
Hard to adjust to at first as i had a 2 year gap year so was apprehensive to start, but now i have settled in i feel more at ease both socially and academically
Lots of placement opportunities
I like the inclusion of group discussions, and i dislike lecturers using too many videos during lectures
Good and well represented
Very close and easy to get to
Not enough options
Good, they provide us with a student hub and the counselling facilities are advertised thoroughly
it’s been a very new experience for me, i’ve had to be very independent which can be lonely but overall i’ve met a lot of new people and i am enjoying myself. However i would say to future student don’t go to uni just to move out and make friends because there are easier ways to do it, but do it because you enjoy your course
my course very much encourages you to find a placement and helps with improving cvs, there’s lots of support
i like the freedom of being able to interpret my briefs in my own way and being creative, i don’t like seminars when i don’t do any work and just get spoken at
it’s a nice area it’s quite small which i like however there could be room for improvement
my university is quite small and i like this as i do photography the studio isn’t taken up by too many people and is very accessible
it isn’t too bad i have to commute by bus or train to get to uni, however when i am at uni there aren’t very many shops or food places locally
my university has a lot of societies and sport teams and are well supported
very good and i feel comfortable being able to email any of my tutors about work, and when i am unable to attend uni as long as i email them they are very understanding
On the whole positive and would recommend for postgrad. Would find the uni a bit small for me personally as an undergraduate although the students union do seem to put on a lot of events
I think this is an area of development. In some undergraduate courses it seems really well resources but not a lot of information for the MSc conversion apart from the advice is to do another masters after
The course tutor is very organised and lectures are good but a massive cluster of assignments around Christmas was hard
Lovely food and clean area. Staff are welcoming
Good. Library great and sports centre good too. Wish there was a pool
The convenience of being able to drive and the proximity to home was one of the main reasons why I chose it
Good considering it’s a small uni on a campus
Learning hub useful haven’t used much else
I have had a really good experience so far. I have settled in well and would suggest other students to get to know their lecturer and peers so that they can have a good time at uni
They have sessions to work towards getting a good placement
The long days aren’t very good The lectures are small which is good to get help from the lecturer
They have a lot to offer
They have a lot available
There isn’t many good food places around. You have to travel to get to places
So far my experience has been amazing. Not only the learning but meeting new people and having loads of fun. Being at this university has bee great the student union always offers fun activity’s
The university provide support if you would like to get a job and also for placements
I like the topics and modules but sometimes the slides are to long and bits hard to keep interest.
The accommodation is on the university campus so it is easy to get to everyday. There is a Morrison’s in the town and little shops that are found useful.
10/10 the uni offers many sports facilities, Evan a gym,
The uni has all options to support the students and I find it very easy to gain support when needed
It has been really good. Had the zuppor to need, passing and made many friends. Definitely get involved with the societies as you meet many other people just like I did running Disney Society.
We have a careers apartment. They offer work placements which is great as it is every year for a good few weeks.
We get both placements and lectures. Plus seminars and assignment specific lectures.
It is great.
They are good and all are disability accessible.
Yes it is right in campus and we can get a shuttle bus into the Horsforth Town.
There are many types of sports for different people and all abilities.
The counselling service is massively improved. And the feedback is good and we take it all in to improve.
