Overall not complaining I am satisfy with everything at the moment. It’s my first year but so far so good . As a student studying a foundation course I was afraid at first and even during the first week of class I was still afraid as the level of studies was different from college but teachers made sure we understand and provided us with many help
every week there is a section to support and advise on careers and employability
What I like the most is the fact that the teacher makes it easy for us to understand . The course I study is tourism and aviation and therefore we have a lot of student from different nationality studying the course and sometimes they have difficulties understanding English . Teachers takes their time on such student and make sure they understand what they need to be doing especially instructions on assignment.
It’s wonderful . During tutorial the teacher gives us the opportunity to express ourselves and bring out what ever issue we have.
Its been lovely I have met life long friends and my tutors are amazing and offer to be mentors when graduationg and progressing onto ky next stage either in the academic or professional world.
Through placements and career departments holding meet and greets as well as putting assignments and assessments in place that replicate the working world.
I love the fact that the class is a manageable size and isnt too big as I dont work well woth big groups as the information tends to get lost. I dont like that the actual sports hall is 15 mintues walk away from the main campus
They are good enough can use a upgrade but they work thats all that matters.
They are great communication is amazing always keeping us informed on grades and ways to improve and what is needed in assignments is explained in its simplest form in afford to allow students to obtain high grades. I have not needed to see counsellers but it is evident that they are there as there is information posted around the university letting students know where, when and how to constanct consullors
I enjoy going to this college however I think the university centre need renovating as it seems quite old. My experience was great easy to find classrooms and teachers are great
Teachers help you for you to achieve the best mark
I like how small the group is which means teacher is able to help ya and the least I like about the course is the amount of essays we are Given
Good food options at the cafe
Very good experience, the staff are very helpful and efficient in all modules and individual needs of each student as well as the class as a whole, I sincerely believe that this extra support is essential to the students development
Group about individual tutorial sessions
Everything is fine
I have enjoyed my time at UC and feel I have been nurtured as a student in a way I would not have been had I have gone to a traditional university setting. I have had great relationships with all my tutors who were able to give me good feedback,
The college and tutors are always extremely supportive of students who are applying for jobs/ moving up in their careers and will make any adjustments necessary for their learning. However I do not know of any careers department although I'm sure there is one.
Most: Small group sizes allows for tutor/student rapport to be built quickly. Least: Very Powerpoint based
The facilities are adequate. The library is small and has to be accessed through the main college which was inconvenient. There are computers in the UC building which was good.
The support offered is fantastic. The course leader is incredible and is supportive of any issues you may have. We also have an assigned support worker who is available to us at any time.
Overall I love my course I wish there was options for student parking as I find that a lot of the student that travel from home find a lot of expense in paying for parking or having to park at a car park that is about a 5 minute walk away that isn’t always available to park as a lot of the teachers park there then the student can’t go to class.
We have amazing opportunity’s to get involved with a lot of the industry work, out teachers are always wanting us to take park in these opportunities and they are there to help all the way though.
I wish there was more pratical than theory
There is always help in the university centre for all kinds of needs including some like extra support eg Simon and there is a a support for people struggling to live away from home.
I love it so much its the best decision I've made in my 25 years and i finally feel happy and like I'm in the right path in life and bettering myself and my future.
Everything and nothing
The course provided an excellent grounding for entering industry, covering all areas. Throughout my three years at Leeds City College, the support and encouragement from the tutors has been exemplary. Their optimism and passion is something which resonates with me, giving me the confidence to further challenge myself by undertaking new and exciting opportunities. My experience at Leeds City College will be one which will be remembered and cherished for the rest of my life. Friendships have been formed and many memories created, I can't wait to undertake new opportunities and put into practice all that I've gained throughout my time at University.
Links are formed with the Northern Film School, where opportunities allow students to work on BA hons and MA films. Theatre contacts are also invaluable, as this furthers ones comprehension of how a theatre production operates. Industry specialists attend, giving workshops on a variety of skills too. Since achieving my BA Hons, an opportunity arose to apply for a TV Hair and Craft film course. This particular course is in conjunction with the National Television and Film School, the British Film Institute, Screen Skills. I feel honoured to be able to further my learning and build on those areas which are essential for industry.
The delivery of each assignment was often commenced with an activity to allow us to consider different approaches and possibly use some of the research material in our assignment. Other modules delivered were divided over the weeks until submission, where a particular element was discussed, then further group work was undertaken. By engaging with group work each group was able to deliver a variety of points to consider when structuring the assignment. Differing conjectures during discussions allowed a broader discussion to take place, where an exchange of information became invaluable. There should be a wider focus on hair within the course, as this is an essential skill required.
Leeds City College, allows students to work in creative environments, in particular Prime Studios. Without these facilities the skills and techniques students acquire wouldn't be exemplary. Industry specialists provide in-depth knowledge, sharing experiences and providing an excellent education platform. The library recourses contribute enormously by having the most up to date reading material, which is essential for assignments. The library staff have demonstrated invaluable support especially when undertaking research projects.

Feedback from assignments has always been constructive, from this elements are learnt and taken forward to the next one. Realistation on those areas where errors have been made allow students to develop further comprehension of what's expected from the learning outcomes. During times of difficulty, having contact with either a tutor or a counsellor was so essential. Knowing there was someone to discuss things with wether its difficulty with an assignment or personal issues was so imperative. The support provided was integral and at times the outcomes wouldn't have been so good otherwise. The counselling team were there to listen, and provide a space where you're free to express those worries or concerns.
Ive really enjoyed it, its being fun to tackle new things head on. Ive got to explore multiple subjects within the games industry and really dig into them. I feel confident and happy with what im learning
They teach employable skills and stuff we would need for the working world
I like the support all the tutors provide. I believe more independant projects should be done
Its great, theres always somewhere to come in and work on your projects, all the technology needed for the course is available at all times
The tutors are great and work hard to ensure we understand such as leaving all information online for us to go back over and much more
So far the university has been great as tutors are friendly and easy to have a laugh with, in a way this helps with couse work as i personally struggle with asking people questions if im bot familiar with them
Not applicable yet however i can see them doi g this in the near future
I enjoy the fact that it is part group discussion and then the rest is working on assignments as this help us get into a good mindset to work in
Mostly good however bathrooms are scarce
Our tutors and feedback have been great and the 1 to 1 meetings we have help as our tutorials tutor can offer advice on how to improve
