Brilliant and I really enjoy it but little things like locker would be help full. The course can be really tailor to you and you take what you want from everything offered. would recommend
good that an acting degree is practical and not loads of unnecessary essays. would like a different method of sharing work other then google drive / classroom or get help learning how to use it
good rooms and lots of equipment needed. Would like lockers
So far I am about 2 and a half years through my college life and have already expressed to my tutors that I am dreading finishing my course. The college has made me strive to learn and achieve through challenges faced throughout my time at the college and made the thought of learning and expanding my knowledge fun and exciting. The college makes me not only want to achieve in my academic studies but makes me want to achieve in and challenge faced in my student life.
Aspects of the course throughout all the years required me to go out and work with real people or get work experience within a certain sector that I wish to proceed in. If any student fails to find any of these, the tutors never fail to aid in the search for such opportunities. Also, all student get regular emails of work experience opportunities as well as the opportunity to gain additional coaching qualifications away from the course which as a result will improve our knowledge and the chance of employability.
The course is taught in a relaxed and friendly environment that never fails to make me feel at ease no matter what mood I turn up in. The course has a mix of teaching styles such as visual, practical and audible which even if you don't fully understand what learning style is best for you,m the course is run in a that gives you the best possible chance to learn and succeed. The balance between the fun and relaxed atmosphere of the work environment with the work assigned is challenging enough to make me strive to achieve without confusing or overwhelming me. Even with the best possible methods to learn, if I do find myself still misunderstanding certain aspects of the lecture taught, all information is put onto google classroom, giving me enough time to catch up or revise certain areas. Also, the tutors never fail to spend additional time with the student to help them understand and succeed in any given task.
The facilities on and around the campus give the best possible resources for me to achieve in my chosen subject, all areas are clean and of great use areas such as a quiet study area and also a social area available to buy food and beverages as well as socialise with new people.
The tutors never fail to help me when I'm finding a task particularly hard with emails being replied to in fast time and them even taking time out of my day to sit down and talk through the challenge, seeing how much effort and time the tutors put into me makes me aim to be the best student I can be and achieve to my full potential. Outside of the academic setting, the college has multiple counselling and resources available for any problems within my personal life, this encourages me to not only work to be my best within the college but also makes me work and understand how to manage my personal life as well.
Great had minimal issues with the course and tutors. The college is always trying to improve the equipment and keep everything working. The new building is close to transport links and close to get too
Modules based around commercial industry
Most - how friendly and helpful the tutors are Least- Organization and communication can be lacking
Tutors - excellent Personal - from tutors great college unknown
I have enjoyed it however it has been particularly challenging with deadlines. In the future, I'd definitely put aside more time to read through the briefings and better my work.
They provide multiple opportunities at games' events to showcase our work.
I like most being able to work on something I personally have a connection with. I least like the uncomfy chairs in the classroom.
They're fine, the IT department are slow to update hardware/software however.
Very good and responsive.
Thanks to university centre leeds i have a 1st class honors degree and have been able to study further on a MSc. The degree programme is well recognised by other institutions and industry and the skills gained throughout the programme have been invaluable.
Excellent ties to local businesses. Placements in relevent industries and many transferable skills learnt.
Many diffetent methods of teaching with good online resources. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and happy to go the extra mile.
Excellent facilities with well stocked library and amazing staff.
Excellent help from all tutors which meant i had no need to access counselling but available if required.
Has been amazing so far. Everything about the course has exceeded my expectations. The tutors are great and the facilities have everything I need to make sure I can do what I want
By providing events to go to for networking
I like how the tutors are amazingly helpful and will always make time for you. I dislike the amount of time spent in class
Amazing. Have all of the tools needed
Enjoyable, the varied work and life in general and the new building minus its teething problems but all new builds have that so I guess I cannot really complain about that
It does yes
The new toilet design does not give much privacy but other than that great
Lacking in some places but also if the student does not say anything then how can they help
so far i am not impressed i woul like the courses ro be more intensive and immediate feed back soon after writing an assignment so you can guage your essay writing
at the moment i dont fill the college is making efforts to increase my employability
i dont think some subjects that i am doing will help me in my prefered course and i dont think its deep enough i would like more exercise and work
the facilities are good and equiped well
not up to standard
It’s okay but could be improved via previous comments such as more presentations should be made. One teacher that I have in particular I feel is terrible as he will not go through a process 1 on 1 with somebody who is struggling so I spend my lesson helping those that are struggling and barely get to do any of the work myself.
Currently I’m an apprentice and the LCCUC providers the college side of my corse
I like the freedom we are given in the choose of method of note taking however most is free written on the board so if the lecturer forgets something we will never know
Most is fine however it is way below the standard of my previous college (Elliott Hudson College)
Great plenty of support for any issue
1/10 I would not recommend this place, even to somebody I hate. It’s (for me) been a useless median between university and A-Levels. The course content is a simplified recap of GCSE and A-Level content. It is certainly not suitable for full time students, and as an apprentice I can safely say that I would not recommend that any employer sentence it’s apprentices to this course.
I’m an apprentice with a CRO, and college works with my employer to ensure that I’m being trained properly and that I’m not being disadvantaged or left behind, however I’m not aware of any careers or advice service for looking for future opportunities.
Some of the lecturers are good. They are thoughtful and answer questions well, but others tend to waffle about irrelevant topics. That really gets on my nerves, someone is paying for this and it’s bad value for money.
Terrible. Nowhere near as modern, organised or functional as other local universities such as University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett.
Very poor. No explanations are given by chemistry staff as to when final submission dates are, or what is expected of work to be submitted. Feedback is minimal, rushed and not thoughtful in the slightest.
