Civil Engineering - BEng (Hons)

University rating (4)

I've had an incredible first three months at Leeds Beckett. Learning is made much more interesting by the tutors' lectures and real world examples, which I have thoroughly appreciated. The whole uni life here has been great, just being in Leeds itself feels like such a positive change. I’ve grown a lot since stepping out of my comfort zone and i'm loving every bit of it, both academically and in co-curricular activities. Honestly, it’s been all good so far!

MSc - International Trade and Finance

University rating (5)

As an international student, Leeds Beckett made the transition into a new country and culture so easy for me. Lecturers are extra supportive during term time and even during assessment periods. The diversity of the university has given me a lot of insight in other cultures and I’ve made friendships that I hope last a lifetime from this university.

MSc Sound and Music for Interactive Games

University rating (4)

It’s a good university with great facilities and strong lecturers on the arts side, but it’s lacking in socials and events. The societies sometimes feel abandoned, with inactive Instagram pages and Discords. Because of that, many LBU students end up hanging out with the societies at the University of Leeds, which are much more active and well-organised. Eating options are also very limited, and even if there are some, I still haven’t found any student kitchens on the city campus.

Event Management

I love Leeds Beckett as a uni! It’s a great location with both city and Headingley campus meaning it’s easily commutable anywhere in the city. My favourite but would most likely be my course. There is so my involvement with the students and I really feel as if I have got to know my lectures on a fun and friendly basis. With all the work, they have offered tonnes of support and guidance. I also love the Headingley campus, however I would make more accommodation closer as the only one that does not require public transport is Carnegie Village (on-campus accom).

Its okay, but its not the best years of my life like I said it would be. Feel like I'm kinda lost all the time and I just get unexpected things thrown at me like I have been hit with courseworks and exams and I'm just like what where did this come from?

Access to certain facilities, such as the gym and football pitches, should be free but cost an extra fee, apart from that no real complaints.

Civil Engineering - BEng (Hons)

University rating (4)

Lots of stuff and events going on and so much to get involved with if you want to. Lots of different courses to study and the library is great and plenty of space to work too. the indivudal sections and buildings per course is great too as you can find the support needed and also be around people doing the same course and studying the same degree. The practical and labs sides look interesting and I am looking forward to using these as my course goes on. I think the lecture halls could be improved as the desks sizes are not the best and not suitable for working on laptops and then puts you at a disadvantage or a bigger classroom space would be more suitable so you can have normal sized desk to use.

English and Creative Writing - BA (Hons)

University rating (4)

The support for students with mental health issues and disability needs whilst studying is excellent. The campus could do with some more green spaces and a few more study areas, as the library can get very busy, however overall the campus is well set out and equipped for students.
