at the start i was a little disappointed just because the uni was so small but did offer a lot which made up for it, 2nd year has been so much better and im proud to be apart of the uni and know the people i do and have collaborated with.
the 2 weeks of employability really help to give an idea on what is needed when we do leave the bubble of uni life and start applying for postgrad jobs.
have a variety of tutors that have different knowledge and skills that can influence the way we work rather than just having one set way of working.

i think the union do a lot for us and try to get us involved with live briefs and interacting with each other, i don't get involved as i feel it would take up too much of my time and also worried i wouldn't get nominate for a role.
since the new build has been completed the facilities have much more improved and now feel apart of an established uni.
the city is small but theres a lot going on for creatives, music, pop ups, cafes and just interesting places to go looking round. also so many veggie and vegan options which i think is great for a small city.
again to say leeds is a small city there is always so much going on and there is never a weekend you could be bored as theres events all the time, particularly super friendz which i think is a great place to look for gigs and events.
ive had help from all and do think the uni is super supportive and know that students might have worries and problems so make sure the help is there for them if they need it.
i'm really enjoying it its very chill and relax, the work is intense but its good because there is so much support available. i would highly recommend this university to others
they allow advertising in the uni and have jobs available in the uni for students
i like how relaxed it is

i think it is very good and tailored to the students
my accommodation is very homely and makes me feel safe and cosy
very good, the equipment is very high tech
amazing for students
there are lots to join and all are welcoming
very good
In my first term, I felt that the University could have felt more, well, like a university. But once the new expansion was built and extra funding went into spaces such as the new Library I felt that I was in a University I could be proud of. Leeds Arts University is an exciting creative hub of friendly, ethusiastic tutors and students and I am really enjoying the first year of my degree here.
At Uni, especially during our Personal Professional Practice (PPP) Lectures, we are informed on areas of employability. Our Uni also sends out daily emails regarding competitons/placements which make it easier to get involved with extra experience.
I like the level of support from Tutors, especially since they are all enthusiastic and have their own art practice, which makes talking to them inspiring. I like the hands on and practical elements of my course, and the structure of the term is very well thought-out and has a natural progression through areas of design. I also like the stress from tutors to work in studio, so time away from uni is spent away from our projects or artwork. I least like the studio based lecture room, I find I become less engaged when there is so much other noise and less room to write and get comfy. I like the intensity of the course, but sometimes I find that being in every day of the week is exhausting and drainning.

I haven't yet got involved with any activities with our students Union. When I attended a freshers event in the first couple of weeks, I put my name down for multiple societies but none of them emailed back or came in contact with me again which I didn't think was good; I was very excited about perhaps joining a variety of art based groups and was dissapointed when I heard nothing back as were a few other students I know.
Amazing, I can't fault all the workshops and inductions I have had relating to my course for instance Print, Textile Print e.c.t Apart from the odd printer and scanner or annoying computer, I find the facilities are great and really inspire me. The new library is a lovely quiet place to work, and there are great sources of research available to use! I highly rate repographics also.
I love Leeds. The city is a safe and comfortable place. The University encourages students to get to know Leeds through course visits or emailed out local events/activities.
The clubs are great; I enjoy nightlife in Leeds especially the bars situated in the centre of leeds! There is always somewhere new to find! I don't highly rate the societies, they encouraged mainly art based activities for freshers and, dare I say, they are rather "boring". I wish they had organised more exciting and engaging ones for the inital weeks of Uni.
The academic feedback is spot on! The personal feedback seems to also be of a high standard although I haven't yet needed to use the services they provide. I have noticed that tutors refer to Student Welfare and visiting them as they can help with personal problems very well.
Overall, the university experience has been great. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time so far at the university despite the hectic timetable and the workload. The people are nice, helpful and super friendly. Everyone listens to what you have to say and respects your opinions.
The student tutor relationship is amazing, the tutors know you as a person and are always there available for help. Tutorials and regular feedback sessions are carried out regularly which is really helpful for Graphic Design. The standard of work expected and required is to a professional level which prepares you well for real-life work and experience.
I like how the sessions are carried out giving us plenty of time to do thr work however, the workload is quite a bit and in the time given it may seem overwhelming at first but it is doable. Even though, the workload is doable it is quite frustrating at times as the timetable is full on and we're expected to be in uni pretty much everyday.

Students union is quite diverse and really good. However, I have not had a chance to get involved much due to the timetable being so full on. Also, mainly because our content is so tough and so much, we often find ourselves spending all out time on uni work rather than activities around the uni.
The facilities availbale are excellent. Theres professional equipment available to access even if you;'re not on that course, for example, you don't need to be studying Photography to borrow/ use a camera and other equipment.
I personally love Leeds and the city life it offers. It is so diverse and so beautiful. The people are amazing, theres good shopping places. There are many restaurants and take outs, just so much to offer. Theres also parks and nature areas for relaxing. It's a perfect city.
The academic feedback on our course is excellent. We get weekly critiques with the tutors and peers to get regular feedback on our ideas and designs. Outside of critique time, the tutors also go around in studio hours to provide one to one feedback or solve any problems you have. I have not really needed any counselling so I am not sure about that, but there was a compulsory tutorial for everyone to discuss any financial, or health-related or just personal issues with the tutor so he could forward those in need to the right people.
Best time of my life, probably. I'm really happy to have studied here and I am pleased with what I made. The course team is great but the diversity of the city is especially wonderful
Absolutely they do. An entire module is devoted to learning things like contracts, terms and conditions, online presence, freelancing and establishing yourself as a business. The careers department also hosts employability fortnight for 2nd years and creative networks for third years, in which a slew of accomplished professionals deliver seminars of free business mentoring. Frequent visiting speakers and trips to festivals give us opportunities to network. The uni is incredibly industry focussed
I like the abundance of one to one time with tutors and the weeklies, in which our work is scrutinised by the course team and peers. I like the specialist advice. I would like to begin focussing on our final film earlier on than October. Forming the basis of the film over the Summer would allow us to make longer films with more complexity

Students' Union is excellent. Very approachable. They hold weekly forums and allow anyone to start a society with union mentorship
Perfect for what I need. (I use wacom tablets, cintiqs, the adboe suite and tv paint predominantly). Always space to work
Affordable compared to the South, very student oriented. There's something for everyone but I wish there were more accessible green spaces. Excellent nights out and culture though
They are okay. Often sparsely attended, but we are allowed to join any of the societies at university of leeds.
Excellent. Small student cohort and dedicated welfare team ensure that people often get the help they need. However, it can sometimes take a while to get to the front of the queue
Overall there are bumps in the road an no university is perfect but i will say the majority of staff, courses and facilities here surpass incredible. Your transition into adult educational life will be smooth and invigorating
great access, with a full department devoted to the aid of finding opportunities and jobs for students looking to further their careers and cv
I like the fact we have tutors on hand to help us as well as the various workshops that allow us to create a wide scope of art

Student Union is amazing, students and staff join together to genuinely create a promoting and helpful student life
amazing, we have equipment and staff knowledge of the most modern machinery as well as fully equipped library and digital resources.
If you love a good night out its amazing for that party lifestyle but if you do prefer a good pub night there are also several great areas all in and around the campus
the club and societies of our university focus on the actual wants of the student body and we have a variety of food, cultural, creative etc. clubs. However there is a severe lack of sport related societies.
Our tutors our really instrumental in the progress of our education and always there when you need them. We also have ( from personal experience ) a phenomenal student support staff.
spot on!Students are all very friendly here and I always feel comfortable speaking to random people or asking for help from both staff and students. The work load is as expected, enough to stay busy (in a good way). Lots of freedom to do the kind of work which interests you.
yes for sure, literally left a careers guidance talk 5 minutes ago. very good speakers and friendly staff
Very full on which is both a benefit and a curse. better this way in the long run for sure though, the intensity of it is actually what lead me to chose this over an alternative, much more relaxed course at another institution. Would prefer not to have essay modules as this is not my forte but it does help build subject knowledge so i can see why this is implemented.

good stuff, was a member of the ski society last year and met some really nice people. Have not made the most out of it by any means. There are a surprising number of societies given the relatively small amount of students at our uni. I have been told we can also join societies at leeds uni across the road though which has a far greater number of them and a lot more students
state of the art. Plenty to go around. never much of a wait to access any of them. most you can simply walk in and use
very lively. Friendly people and a good mix of things to do. very good for nights out but also lots of creative and cultural opportunities
wide range of them, all i have attended seem very good and well funded
Very good on both the academic and personal side. Counselling available from student welfare and academic support also available, both of which I have made use of. Tutors are all very knowledgeable and have their own specialities.
So good - the university is easy to be in and find your way around. people and staff are accomodating and not intimidating. Facilities are easy to use and timetables are easy to manage.
Modules include information and education on freelance work and details on pay, timing and employability.
The thing I like the most is how often we are able to talk to our tutors one on one. We have scheduled tutorial times but also tutors will make time to talk to you and are mostly always available/in the studios during studio time. The thing I like the least is the workshop sessions we get taught, they are few and far between making it hard to keep skills learnt in my head for when I will eventually need them.

There isn't a lot going on, there aren't many societies and even the ones there are aren't very well organised or advertised. There have been a few good events organised by the union however, for free or a fair price.
Spaceous, clean, well organised in maintenance, reasonably priced and social
Very good
Lively and safe. Not a lot of arty things.
Not very well advertised.
Really really good, offered readily and openly and everything we may need to get help is made clear. Always someone to talk to for advice or information on where to go next.
Uni have been a massive change and uproot but I know I’ve made the right decision at studying at Leeds arts university. I now encourage people to study outside of London and explore the wider British landscapes.
Constant emails about opportunities and strong careers department
High tutor support and guidance Lack of structure

Student union tries but doesn’t seem to interest me with their events and hard to find a central point as to what’s going and and when
Downright amazing access and support are in paralleled
Moving from London to Leeds has been the best decision
Not enough societies
The student support department are the best team we could have asked for. The tutors genuinely care so much for our wellbeing
I have enjoyed my uni experience so far because everything has gone really well. Everyone is nice and it’s great to be surrounded by like minded creatives. Plus the facilities are great. I love going into the studio and getting some work done
We have guest artist speakers and workshops yearly that teach us skills - how to freelance, working with art directors etc that will be useful in business after graduating.
The best part of the course so far is the experimentation. The tutors are professional but also make the course fun! The part I dislike is the lack of structure. We can go a whole week without having classes and that concerns me a little!

They’re really nice! They’re there for you if need be and they’ve got lots of cool societies to join and fun free events!
Secure and clean! Love the bathroom in my room as well
They’re amazing!!
Fun and eventful
Could be more organized - the one I’m in, but I like it nonetheless
We can go to our tutors any time we’re having problems, someone is always around to listen. Haven’t been to counseling but heard it’s worth it
