I went to the vet school at Bristol and it was truly the worst experience of my life. They increased the number of students to the point that there was not one lecture room that could accommodate my year and people had to sit on the floor during lectures. There is a culture of double standards between staff and students. By the final year I was expected to work 3 consecutive weeks without a day off. Whilst I was there, there were 25 student suicides. Lots of friends were kicked out. Students were reporting sexual harassment by placement providers. I had to report numerous incidents of verbal abuse by university hospital staff. Mental health and disabilities were not at all taken seriously. Student support facilities were very poor. When students asked for mental health support, they were advised to leave the university instead. It was an extremely unsafe and toxic environment and I could not wait to get out of there. I would not recommend!!
Most classes are useless
Nothing it’s great
improved my skills in different fields alot
Lots of the lectures are really passionate. Worst: Most social activities revolve around drinking
Don't do it guys. The most unsupportive university, no wonder we have a mental health crisis. The vet school take in far too many students for them to be able to adequately support any of them. Consistently telling us our exam times/locations within a month before the exam, not allowing for resits of practicals if you missed one for ANY reason and love to ask for student feedback only to not act on any of it, or try and gaslight us into thinking we're in the wrong for giving such feedback. Just don't do it. This degree is hard enough as it is so do it at a university that will support you.
The community and the location is great. Need to improve some of the extra curricula facilities and public transportation
The lack of a confined campus makes getting to classes the most difficult part of studying at university. The lack of proper study spots also makes it difficult to study if you're someone who thrives from studying in groups.
Extended hours (currently closes 5pm on weekdays) would be beneficial to students Extending libraries to add more seats
- The campus is great - however, the student support in terms of academic is quite lacking - however the school readily listens to feedback and makes appropriate changes
Decent professors. Lack of study spaces.
The campus is too spread out which makes heading to consecutive seminars difficult. But I like how many libraries there are.
The people at the University of Bristol are very welcoming. One thing for improvement is to have better and proper lecture halls. Law students have been using Victoria Rooms for lectures and the experience is not the best as Victoria Rooms is meant for musical performance.
Amazing place amazing teachers who are really knowledgeable.
Lots of activity and people fron diverse backgrounds
More study spaces
The range of societies and optional activities are very broad, it's very easy to have something to do every day.
Student life is great, the nightlife and atmosphere is friendly and fun. The uni lectures are predominantly very interesting and explained well but the course is definitely challenging and requires a decent amount of time for solo study.
Bristol is a really good city with loads of things to do. Creates a really nice environment to live in. Some of the buildings on campus are nice to work in and there are a few libraries which I feel I can efficiently work in. Could improve the student union.

Best - being in Bristol Worst - long course, lack of support with assessments, too much self learning
Best - loads of freedom, laid back Worst - lack of support
Most - good location Least - someone pickled a rat
