The student support at this Uni are really good, two staff in particular are so professional and considerate when you approach them with any issues, they are really amazing at their jobs. TEDI is a small uni so everyone is kind of connected, it gives people with an impractical background a chance to become an engineer, that in itself is amazing! The lectures and work classes could definitely improve a lot but saying that they are sustainable and get the job done, as it’s only a start up I do see potential in it !

As it is a rather new institution, students unions are not expected, however we do have use to King's college unions which is a great opportunity. For year 2, a bigger university space would be appreciate it as space will start to become more limiting with new students each year.

Everyone is so kind, and you feel like a family. Everyone is willing to help you if you are in need, there’s 1-1 tutor support which is very beneficial for those who prefer a personal connection. Course can have a lot to do but you just got to have the ambition and it will be okay

As the uni is still relatively small, our class sizes are also fairly small which means we each get plenty of 1:1 teaching time and are able to get plenty of Q&A time with our lectures. The hands on “real world problem solving” approach keeps us engaged when taking on group challenges which make us feel like we really are making a difference. Along side the group projects are the individual tasks which too tackle real world problems, allowing us to learn how to use our skills with a true engineering approach. The communication between peers and staff is amazing as we are able to use Microsoft Teams and Outlook to speak with and arrange meetings with staff and class mates. Most lecturers will respond very quickly meaning most queries and problems will get solved very fast if we are not on campus to speak with them directly. The only improvements I would like to see is to have better quality metal/wood working machinery in the workshop. The floor os the shop is quite soft and in turn means the machines like the lathe and mills wobble/vibrate every so slightly while running. This effects the quality of the job we are machining which is not ideal when we need to produce parts as part of an assignment which counts towards our grades.

I travel a hour and a half to get to my uni (3 hours in total a day to get back home) and they are always aware of strike and tell us the plan for those who can’t get in and set a online so no one misses out. I also personally missed 6 weeks due to having a surprise operation and have issues with the after care and they was so supportive of helping me get the support I need for my study from home and been understanding though all the issues that I need help with. I have always had issues with my learning and my previous school never helped but tedi changed that for me, they sat me down we talked about what I personally need help with and what can they do to support me and did everything to help me so I could do my study’s as best as I could. Further more tedi is just outstanding, the campus and staff just make it feel like a family and everyone is welcome and the building always looks in top condition and if not and we tell them there’s a issue they fix it within the week and put a better plan out so the issue doesn’t occur-again. So for a university that’s only with their second year of student and still learning I find it’s already one of the best unis out there for the support and the community and how week there teaching style is as it makes it’s so much more enjoyable and less stressful and wants you to go back in everyday and learn again what’s very different from going to school,

The small class sizes are amazing for essentially one on one communication with lecturers when needed. Although with KCL student union at present we are not allowed to participate in matches.
