The campus is huge with a lovely garden jn the front. There are lots of study places around the campus too. The sports building is a few mins away with top facilities. However, people are not that friendly.

The University provides many different services and supports students in many different ways like with mental health and with future career aspirations. The worst aspect would probably be the constant strikes that makes students miss out on their education and is also a waste of money as many classes are missed.
The best aspects of my experience have been the student union’s societies which provided a great way to meet new people and really enhanced my student experience on campus. I also enjoyed the wide range of facilities on campus, including study rooms, library and the cafe’s and shops within the campus itself. The worst aspects of my uni experience would be the over-reliance on online teaching. It really impacts my learning and removes the interactivity that is important when learning more practical things in Computer Science. I would also say that the food and products in campus can be expensive at times when compared to other places in the area.

City Uni is a great place to study and you can make many friends, but I feel like in this second semester they have left us first years in the deep end by increasing our modules and reducing the guidance given for our subjects and it's a bit poorly organised.
Best thing would be area and the amount of career support you get. Also the campus is really beautiful. The worst part, which isn't actually bad, is how competitive my course is but it helps to motivate me.
I have to say that unless you are a law student, a lecturer, or otherwise satisfied with mediocrity, you should not be happy with this university. There is very little to do on campus, social areas such as the canteen are often overcrowded with nowhere to sit and eat your food (which, if you bought from the cafeteria is pretty average). The facilities this university boasts of is a Santander branch, a Costa and a Starbucks, which might be useful if I couldn't go to Angel down the road ten minutes away. The toilets are also always out of soap, and frequently have stalls out or order. There are very few interesting societies, most of which are about personal identities (LGBT society, *Nationality* Society etc.) , so to me it seems highly exclusive as you can't really join them if you are not part of these groups. There is a lack of a student union, but this is more understandable considering I don't think anybody really takes this university as seriously as campus universities take themselves. Most people probably just do their work and go home. The lecturers are always going to be a key factor that makes or breaks the university, in the case of City, University of London, they are wildly inconsistent. Few lecturers can explain the content coherently, some have accents so heavy that its impossible to understand and even the automated subtitles (which are usually quite good) can't even figure it out and some are so dull and boring that its simply impossible to concentrate. When coursework releases, they make such a big fuss about docking marks for incorrect formatting or how they are going to cap your work at 40% if you submit more than one minute late. But then after submission, they will set a deadline for themselves to get the marks and feedback back to you before completely missing this deadline by a minimum of 2 weeks (worse case was 3 months) and when it finally gets back to you, the feedback is really poor or in some cases just doesn't exist and never sufficiently justifies to you why you lost as many marks as you did. I have received faster and more comprehensive feedback in primary school, secondary school, and sixth form. These same lecturers have themselves a nice, new, fancy, tall glass building for their offices but still find time to come down and harass you to support their protest for higher lecturer wages before you, as a stressed, burnt out individual, head into your dark brick, brutalist monstrosity of a main university building because of increasing workloads and decreasing time to complete them. I was unfortunate enough to have the same incompetent lecturer for at least one module for each of my years here. In the first year, they struggled to answer an exercise question, told me I was wrong when I explained the answer with relevant reasoning, and then proceeded to explain the exact same answer to me 5-10 minutes later when they had finally figured it out. In the second year, they were hopeless and in the third year they told my group to meet them in their office hours which they were absent for and then they didn't respond to our emails during coursework time. Another lecturer literally didn't bother with recording lectures and just told us to read a textbook and a set of PowerPoint slides (PowerPoint slides have, in some prior cases, been directly plagiarised, word for word, from aforementioned textbook). When the quality of teaching is like this, I'm not sure what I paid for, but fortunately there are some good lecturers, who are being abused by the university into teaching multiple modules and probably burning out in the process. I would love to say some good things about this university, but such things are unfortunately scarce. The main thing is the silent area of the library, which is often enforced well, so you have some good space to actually study. IT services were able to fix my problems, but my friends have had some issues.
Really enjoyed the first year, looking forward to the next. Even though teaching has been online, it has been of a good standard with teachers putting in the effort. I look forward to study face to face.
Overall online experience is good, you get the help you need, I imagine it would be better if it was in person. All my lecturers tend to write back to me quickly if I have any questions. The live seminars are good as well, they make sure you understand the content. They’re also very understanding if you need an extension on your assignments.
Given I have enjoyed my university experience very much so far despite being in a national lockdown for the majority of the time is a great testament to City, University. The learning, student support and wellbeing, socialisation opportunities and job prospects when combined make me excited to experience the rest of my degree at a wonderful university like City.
Not great. Can't wait for this to be over. It seems like the university just wants our money and doesn't want us to do well. Very strict. They have invigilators check our hands and arms individually before we are allowed into an exam hall. Forgot to write this in the other section - they don't give us any past papers/cw with markschemes, just one sample paper and sample cw which give a 3 line response to an essay question.
Very crowded everywhere, queues for toilets, cafes and expensive, we have to pay for boiling water, nowhere to sit, postgrads should have MCR.
Accounting is my favourite subject. My accommodation is new and close to the university. There is a lot of entertainment in town. The printers do not always work, students need printed lectured notes to be provided and make printing free for students as many US universities provide free printing. Range of societies is not wide and they do not have continuity. The student union is active.
