The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

Because of the disjointed teaching there's part of me wishes I'd gone somewhere else. That said most of the lecturers are amazing. I get on well with my class. It's good that all lectures are during the day.
We must find our own placement and complete 200 hours work.
What I like most is the lectures we have. For the most part they are passionate amd committed. What I like least is in two units the teaching has not been very constant. Different lectures. Not knowing where we are. We were promised the same would not occur in semester 2 but it is. We are having 2 competant lecturers removed and someone else instead. Disrupting our learning because of money. Daft really considering our fees provide the money.
Don't know anything about a Students union
Library is good. HE room is a nice quiet area. Facilities are good.
I prefer Newcastle to Sunderland because I'm a geordie.
No idea. I'm a mature student so don't go out.
Most the tutors are amazing. All would give support if asked for it. I know the college do off.counselling but never accessed that service myself.
I am very much enjoying myself at the college, the staff are good at teaching us things, and the facilities supply us with the equipment that we need for our courses pretty well.
Our work placements help us learn how to put on exhibitions outside of college, and our professional practice helped us to create our own portfolios, and helped to teach us what is involved in our careers.
The lecturers allow us to explore what we want without trying to push us in a direction that we aren't comfortable with, but at the same time this is kind of a bad thing because it means we tend to get a bit too lax when it is time to hand in our work.
I am very much enjoying myself while here and Sunderland. I have been here for five years including college. I have gained a huge amount of knowledge and skills which will help me in my future career.
Throughout the course my University have encouraged me to attend exhibitions and also exhibit my own work. I have also had support when building an Art portfolio for future employment and interviews.
What I like most about the teaching I my university is the relaxed atmosphere. Also I very much like the way lecturers inform us of our assignments and then leave us to study independently. There isn't anything I like least I am very happy with the teaching methods.
As a disabled student I find the facilities extremely helpful and they attend to my needs. As an art student I feel I have everything I need to accomplish my assignments and art pieces.
my experience is good and i love the course it has allowed me to develop my art interest and my knowledge of art
they do an external exhibition out side of collage also we did a unit on personal development looking a career options.
i like how some teachers are good with schedules and explaining the units and tasks
not involved never got and info
they are decent
i don't know of any
my overall experience at uni has been really good and it has introduced me to new techinques and options towards my work and possible career paths to take in future.
external exhibition outside of college and online portfolios, and units dedicated to looking at career paths
very good, supportive and helpfully
I thought the university experience of sunderland university ws really good as we got shown round the full campus rather than just the art section where we would be studdying
excellent levels of teaching. I always feel as though I am being taught at the correct speed for me. I would recommend this to all of my colleagues at work. very interesting
i am in full time employment
the teaching is set at a level that is inclusive for all students
Not as good as expected, poor feedback, rushed sessions, no individual tutorials. Course would benefit from an extra session. Sessions so rushed that there’s no time to eat properly on breaks.
I am already employed, this is a extra skill for me in the hopes of securing a career change. Some assistance to find placement.
Not as much individual support/tutorials than I expected. A lot of work crammed in to 8hrs on what possibly should be a course with another half a day included.
Not involved. No time
College facilities are ok ..toilets could be cleaned more regularly and toilets on ground floor would be a bonus.
Good although not used personally. Feedback has been almost none.
