There are a lot of study spaces available and some facilities are open 24hrs which is very helpful during exam periods. The SU is a great place to study and the new addition of the CSU is amazing. If you need support with academic issues, career planning or mental health there are people able to help and offer support. Some buildings are outdated especially in regards to subject specific building such as the John Percival and ASSL library. Funding doesn’t seem to go towards more creative and humanity based subjects.
There isn’t a lot of close reading done of texts and instead a lot of the modules/module leaders focus on the context surrounding the novels. This is helpful when it can be compared with close analysis of the texts but this isn’t always taught or focused on. Most lecturers are engaged with the subject and offer extra support or further materials to explore. However this isn’t always true for most classes,

Cardiff is a great little city. It’s got all the amenities you could want and the staff go out of their way to help you. The new students union building is nice and has potential. As a mature student I don’t feel out of place and am welcomed with open arms.
I really enjoy SHARE. They have good facilities and knowledgable tutors
Cardiff is affordable and diverse and very cheap (coming form an American perspective). Decent buses but you can easily walk most places if you really wanted to

As an international student I was a bit nervous coming to the UK especially wales as I didn’t know much about the culture. However I believe studying at Cardiff university was very helpful as it held many events for international students to get to know wales better, encouraged students by giving city and university tours as well as the university has a lot of societies that students could join. Also Being a transfer student I was given more information regarding academic structure that Cardiff followed which aided me in my learning. However in regards to my course which I am studying at Cardiff feels a bit outdated than what students should be taught as business is a subject that is constantly changing and learning about the current state and methods should be a priority.
As mentioned earlier I believe the course is not very strong at Cardiff I believe the course could be given more importance in regards to the method of teaching the subjects as well as content that is being taught to be updated. However the lecturers are very helpful if the student is facing any problem

Well our Uni has facilities but the academics is not well planned at all. My course especially has no structure , no practice and no practicals involved , we just get assignments without proper guidance. After looking at the uni life , maybe i shouldn't have spent this much money here.
Course is not well planned. The number of hours and guidance is very less. There is nothing exciting about going to uni , it's just hectic

Lots of available spaces for studying especially with a 24/7 library as well as supportive members of staff who respond fast to emails. However there could be more in person teaching to improve the experience.
Office hours for your lectures allow you to easily speak face to face or online about any issues you may have but it would be much better and more motivating if lectures were in person and not online
Very close to the city centre so everything is within walking distance so very good that you don’t need to commute and spend money on travel each day
Staff would walk in and out of your house when ever they wanted as well as maintenance people without warning which was quite scary at times as you didn’t know who these people were and would more often than not wake you up early in the morning from the sound of them walking around your house

Worst: PhD students are very isolated and more can be done to make them feel more integrated Best: everyone I work with is extremely generous and happy to help! I'm amazed by that
We still have meetings online, which is absolutely not necessary now that all restrictions have been lifted! More workshops for PhD student would be really appreciated

It’s a nice place to be, had both the city life and a little bit of the smaller town vibe. Has the facilities of a city but cheaper than London, with great access to other parts of wales and England
classes are fast paced with exams at the end of the module teaching sessions so we are able to put the skills we have recently acquired to good use without having to relearn too much
it’s a really good city to be in

I love the university and the course and the top ranking, but I had faced lot of worst experience in UK. I'm new to an international exposure and I had joined late to the university. There was no support to explain about the university and how to get support. I felt very odd because I won't have friends and there was no one to support me during my first semester. Unfortunately I had faced an worst experience on my residence on that time I called police and university but no one was there to help me because of Christmas holidays I was on road without home for a whole night, because I don't know the housing rules over here and some people cheated me. In this situation I was highly stressed and rushed to complete my assignment and end up in bad marks now.
The course has more content I feel very difficult to cope up because I had civil engineering background and I have no design knowledge. Also I have Missed more classes and feedback because of joining late. That had affected my percentage.
It's a beautiful city and the university is in a good location.

Cardiff is great! Great facilities and fun things to get up to in the city!
It’s a great course to study at Cardiff.

Is a great place to study, with a great nightlife too. However being split between the Heath and Cathays campuses can be annoying as they are a 30 minute walk from each other.
Almost everything is in person, apart from occasional online lectures. Vast majority of the lecturers and tutors are enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
Lots of shops and clubs. There are many nice areas in the city, such as Cardiff bay, Roath park, pontcanna.
University hall is far from town and the main uni accommodation (Talybont). It can make it more difficult at first as most of the people you meet live in the opposite direction so you can’t walk back with them. There is however a bus which runs once an hour, this is great for getting to 9am lectures but more difficult for getting back as the time you finish doesn’t often coincide with bus timings. The surrounding area is very pretty, and roath park is just a short walk away. Supermarkets are all pretty far from here, however there is a Tesco express 15 minute walk away. The nearest bigger supermarket is 35 minute walk, but the bus makes this more bearable. The rooms are all a good size and the kitchens are fine, although mostly quite dated.
