I love the fact that Cardiff University has beautiful and modern infrastructure suitable for solo and group work, which in my opinion adds to students' motivation and desire to want to be in the buildings. The colours and furniture used make it comfortable to spend time in, even if the student is alone. I admire the fact that students are able to watch some lectures from home, and I am also grateful for the lecturers who record sessions for students who would like to go through some lectures again. One way Cardiff University can be improved is if lecturers record most sessions, especially for students who struggle to pay attention for a certain amount of time. Cardiff University truly values skill-building, self-growth and networking. They show this through the activities they provide, such as the cultural groups to connect international students to people who can help them feel a little bit more at home, the investment club, yoga club, trivia club, and many other exciting options. Cardiff University is a wonderful and inclusive place. As an international student, I can confidently say that the university keeps me too busy to feel homesick.
Computer Science has been demanding, especially the discrete mathematics. There are many lectures every week. However, I feel that it is a wonderful and exciting course which has so far challenged my creative skills and made me grow a genuine liking towards coding, which I used to find scary not so long ago in high school.
Student support is horrible bc the waitlists to get any help is super long
Learned useless things and had modules that were incredibly poorly run. really bad
Terrible flatmates
I really enjoy how Cardiff Uni is a healthy mix between a city and campus based university. It has the indepence and open-air freedom of a city based university but the beautiful consolidated site of buildings and facilities as if it were a campus based university. Cardiff itself is lovely city in general with lots of enriching and entertaining experiences available. The accessibility of the city and the university have really encouraged me to explore everything is has to offer.
My course was absolutely the right choice for me so I have enjoyed every aspect of my modules to some degree. The way the content feeds into my degree holistically makes the learning experience feel really rewarding.
Cardiff is such a good place to study as it is definitely a student city. There's always something going on, whether it's in the city centre or offered by the university. The experience that I've had so far at Cardiff University has been incredible. The staff are all so lovely and supportive, and there is so much support offered by the university.
My course is extremely interesting. The common first year for bioscience student means that there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the year. It also means that as students, we get a really useful understanding of all aspects of biology. The contact hours are very good and I believe that they are sufficient. The lecturers are also all very approachable and they are always keen to answer any questions.
My university accommodation is fantastic. The location is perfect as it is located very close to all of the university buildings, as well as the city centre. Also, the bedrooms are very nice, with sufficient space and lots of storage. For value for money, I think that the accommodation is an average price, and compared to other halls across the country it is definitely good value for money.
It's well organised and everywhere is close together. The sports facilities are really good. The student halls aren't very accomadative of bikes
It's really interesting especially the clinics. However the lectures often feel rushed and could be spread out over a few lectures.
The flat is nice and the rooms are relatively spacious and luxurious compared to other halls. The bosses are very stingy about rules and regulations.
The best aspects of my uni experience has been how the different locations and resources have been set to maintain such a conducive environment that helps with studying. One way to improve is to have rentable umbrellas that student can rent using their student ID. Since the weather is pretty unpredictable, it would be a good idea to add umbrella baskets in the libraries that learners can use to get to their accommodation or lectures. Additionally, having collection baskets for the umbrellas in lecture halls. This would create a rotation process for the umbrellas and help moving about in the rain for the students much more easier.
The best aspect of my course is the student support that you can get from the staff and tutors. the staff and tutor are fully focused on making sure that whichever problem you may have is fixed and you are able to understand the content without problem. One thing that could be changed, is the response time from the lecturers to the emails.
What I like the most about Uni halls is how friendly the staff are, and how committed they are to making sure that you are comfortable. Additionally, another aspect that I like is how fast issues are being solved around the property. One aspect that is an issue for most students residing in Talybont North, is the sizes of the room. The rooms could be made bigger and a bit more worth the rent we pay.
Best: Student Union and Social life. Worst: Impersonal relationships with university tutors/lecturers
Best: Covers lots of content and workshop facilities. Worst: not enough one to one time and confusing module structure
Cardiff is an outstanding place to study, there is so many facilities like libraries, study areas located all over the city, making study spaces accessible to all, which is vital during our studies! There is also a lot of support for student by the lecturers, who give office hours to have conversations when help is needed with essay, aswell as constant email updates ensuring we know there is support out there! There’s also student mentors, who often set up group meetings to ensure we understand the content and whether we have any questions. student life at Cardiff is exceptional, there are many events like Bingo Lingo, the Taff quiz, that help bring students together to enjoy their spare time and make the university experience so much more than just studying! Cardiff is such a special place, and already it feels like home! The only improvement i can think of, is the lectures, sometime it feels not very structured, more read of a powerpoint, i think in some cases they could be more engaging! But overall, i feel happy with the level of education i am gaining! The campuses are clean constantly, and the look of the old style buildings make it so much more enjoyable to learn in, it’s much more motivating! Cardiff University is the place to be, and when my younger friends ask me what university to apply for, i tell them Cardiff University is exceptional and they should want to be here!
My course is interesting, although in all honesty the start i am not enjoying since it’s just the foundations of social sciences first, the modules of criminology are amazing! They are always engaging and so fascinating, the lecturers are exceptional and communicate very well with the class. The courses social science side can be interesting, and although i may find some of it not as fascinating, I know it’s needed in the long run for a perfect understanding of the social sciences.
The University Halls are overall amazing! I’ve met the bestest of friends where i am, and the living area is perfect for hanging with friends and doing work! The kitchens get cleaned so often by the cleaners, who are absolutely amazing at what they do, especially as we know how students can be, messy!! I’ve had a few problems with my roofing, but i’ve had multiple people out to help fix this problem, they’ve been very supporting and reassuring which is amazing! Overall, TalyBont South is such a thrilling place to live in, constant student life and people to be around, whenever someone asks me what accommodation to apply for I tell them this is where they want to be, for the fullest university experience!
Thoroughly enjoyed the social aspect of it, particularly the students union societies and sports Wednesday. The location is also great. Currently having issues with lack of contact hours on my course, not having nearly enough. Also unhappy with the student union club entry cost being so high for those who don’t get in within the first hour of opening.
Material available online is great and we have some very distinguished and passionate lecturers. When taught lectures they’re usually very interesting and informative. We have issues with lack of contact hours in the course, only having 6 hours a week in my first semester and an average of 4 hours a week in my second semester. We also don’t have any lectures or seminars, just un-recorded workshops that are half and half being taught and talking amongst ourselves.
Great location for all of the Talybont accommodations and it was very nice quality with plenty of space in both the rooms and communal areas. Sofas were great. The cleaners were very friendly and helpful too. We had a couple issues with ladybugs and the staff not letting us decorate.
Great city for cycling.
mostly in person lectures with some blended, limited contact with tutors

Other students also liked these unis - you might too!
The university is student friendly and supportive. A great environment to thrive and beautiful too. Different campus locations make it difficult for students union
