There is no SU for met students, it’s at the other campus which is an hour and a half walk away.

Fashion Marketing Management Masters - MSc/PgD/PgC

University rating (4)

Great facilities, support and location! Improvements could be adding more areas within the campus to study/chill? Food is great too but perhaps more affordable pricing and more dietary options in vegan and vegetarian range? Other than that it’s been amazing overall and would fully recommend studying here! student support is great here too!

Food Science and Nutrition

University rating (4)

For my course, it's a great place to study. We have the Zero2Five facility, which really helps us get motivated in food science. They give incredible feedback when we ask and give us a general feel of what it's like to work in the profession. I would also say that going to university in the Capital of Wales is fantastic. It gives you many more options for placements, support, and general products coming out into the new market. The campus (Llandaff) is a long distance from some accommodation. It was especially during my first year when I was put in a central accommodation, and the campus was on the other end on the outskirts. For instance, if there was a 9am lecture, it wasn't happening. But in some sense, I would say make sure when choosing accommodation that it's close to where your course is taught. The lecturers are great; it's a miniature course as well, so you really do get that personal touch that many students don't have the privilege to have in, say, a course of 200-300 people. It could also be improved by having more industry people visit or just more class trips. I'm sure small to medium-sized businesses would want that connection, especially in local areas of prospecting students wanting a placement or if they enjoy the talk or visit so much to come to work for them. But I understand that it can be fickle to do or cost money. Fortunately, We have had some factory visits, other relevant trips, and chances to attend conferences and events. I appreciate everything the staff does for me; they're all great in their fields. Some have strengths in other areas and weaknesses, but I believe that everyone does; they collaborate quite a bit. As I said, this is down to how small the course is, which is such an advantage in my opinion.

Fashion Marketing Management Masters - MSc/PgD/PgC

University rating (4)

As a January new starter, naturally I would be among the few, but I came in as the sole January starter to join the September group. It has been very exciting however I haven’t received as much guidance or induction as I would have expected, especially at Masters level. I believe the lecturers probably ‘expect’ me to know, because they prioritized September starters. Otherwise I am very happy with the university so far and I am sure it will get easier as I get to grips!

The best thing is that everyone is always very keen to help you and you never feel left alone. The worst thing is probably the distance from town.
