My university experience has been brilliant in bridgend college, the course has provided me so much opportunities and the staff have all been brilliant in terms of being supportive and academic.
Transferable skills and bringing in people that have industry experience to help us develop our skills.
I like the flexibility the course provides and it offers a wide range of skills from different areas of media.
I don't get involved, because I'm not too aware of it.
The equipment the university provides is excellent, however, there are cases where there have been technical issues in class but have been dealt with quickly and effectively.
I live in a rural area, but there are facilities close by that can be easily accessed.
I'm not apart of any clubs or societies.
The feedback is brilliant in my uni, as we are able to discuss our issues (academic/personal) with our tutors. They are flexible and supportive.
I have found that Bridgend college specifically has been a huge help to bringing me into the industry and giving me the support I need to hopefully become a successful filmmaker
We constantly meet old students who are able to be contacts for us to use in the industry at a later date. We also meet industry proffessionals every few weeks who review projects at the time and give us advice. Making us ready for future employment
The lecturers are constantly at the end of the phone to give us support. One on one tuition means we get more appropriate support and getting involved in practical projects has meant we have been thrown into the course but in exactly what we want to do improving our skills immediately. I don't enjoy how difficult it used to be to get into our classroom for extra teaching outside of classroom time.
Useful, constantly new events taking place that we know about and can go to.
AMAZING we have Mac's we are able to take out top of the range filming equipment whenever we need and we all have our own registered google accounts where we can reach our work all in the same place.
Feedback is amazing we have specific sessions set to sit with tutors and chat about work.
Overall, even though I haven't completed the first year yet, it has been a great start on my journey with lots of new friends and challenges. Fantastic journey.
They give me transferable skills in developing new skills and do work placement in the second year.
I like how we develop our skills and learn about new software. I also like the fact that we do live projects with a client, because it prepares us for future work placement and the world of work.
Based at the University.
Excellent. Thank you very much.
I find the course enjoyable, however, I do find a majority of the course structure to be outdated and often irrelevant. - Such as having to hand in assignments via a PDF document on a CD disk, along with any paper documents which have to be scanned. Instead of taking advantage of the technology, which the college is named after, and using online hand-in systems.
The University/College help us develop skills which can transition over to practical and real world scenarios.
My favourite aspect of the course is the smaller class sizes which give the lectures the ability to work 1:1 with students and tutorial.
The Student Union is based within the Cardiff campus, which makes it a challenge.
The facilities are satisfactory, we have a social area which contains a pool table and ping-pong table. - We also have a decent canteen which provides both hot and cold food.
The University/College often have teaching assistance at hand which can help with any issues wether it be time management on course work or personal problems. They also offer counselling at the main Bridgend campus which I have attended in the past.
I love it. I did not feel that I was ready for university, therefore came on to a foundation degree course. I spoke to a member of staff briefly prior to applying and felt that this course was suitable for me.
I feel that my course has given me transferable skills. The second year also gives me the opportunity to undertake a work placement. The first year has also given me the opportunity to work with clients, with practical projects.
I admire that our tutors are always on hand to help us, if need be. They are always supportive, with class work as well as other things. They are all also very knowledgeable.
It is more so linked with the University of South Wales, therefore we don't get involved.
I think we need more printers, in our block there is only one printer. As a graphic design student, we all rely heavily on printers for our assignments. However the library is a great asset to our campus.
There's no city life.
Clubs are okay. Bridgend town is quite rough in my opinion.
Very good, I feel that my tutors are always supportive. This is with issues regarding work and issues outside of the classroom. I feel that if I ever did have any problems, I could speak to them.
very good, had a lovely time so far. Learnt loads and loads and loads. Feel equipped for the work lace and have learnt transferable skills to take to industry.
Gives us qualifications
Learn about psychology of graphic design. bad canteen
Doesnt interest me
Canteen could be better
The course content has been relevant and varied offering a variety of opportunities post-university. I have attended a partner event between the university and the college.
WORK PLACEMENT, TRANSFERABLE SKILLS, CAREER RELATED CONTENT
varied course modules, work placement element, variety of teaching methods, staff who know the industry, online resources
Fab, lots of content, help and support
n/a as i live in a rural area
n/a as i study on an outside campus
excellent. student services, student well being, counselling services, housing etc. tutors are well equipped and knowledgeable and can point students in the right direction within the college for tailored support
I have enjoyed my Uni experience it has helped me gain confidence and increase my transferable skills set this will hopefully increase my prospective of gaining employment when the course finishes
As part of the course we have taken skills based workshops, work experience ,
I liked most the teaching styles of some of the tutors online resources.
Very good facilities
Live in a rural area the college is based in a small town
I don't attend any clubs or societies
The uni offers a in house counselling service and has student well being service as well as learner support and all tutors give written and vocal feed back on assingnments
So far i have enjoyed being at Bridgend College doing my course. The tutors and the staff have supported me throughout my years here and couldn't ask for any better. I have enjoyed the course that i am doing and it has encouraged me to go on to do the top up degree.
The uni supports us with finding out work placements and supporting us throughout the year with activities that we undertake in the placement.
The most i like about the teaching is that i feel comfortable in the lessons with the tutors and can talk ask them anything and i will receive the support that i need. The least i like about the teaching is that it is all done in once and not spread across.
i am unsure of how to do this or where to go to be involved
The uni facilities are good as we have plenty of access to resources such as books and computers to do our assignments.
The uni is in close to the town which is useful. There are plenty of shops.
I do not go out to the clubs so unsure of what they are like.
The uni offers loads of support to all students whether they are on the course or on a different one. They give lots of feedback to do with assignments and placement. The tutors also have tutorial for any support that we need and to talk about any issues.
Uni has helped me progress and given me the opportunity to study to be a teacher in my future. I have learnt how to reference and write academic assignments. uni is there to support me with any help that i need.
Support with placement opportunities. guidance is available if there are any issues
Power points are clear to understand. There is many opportunities for us to engage in lessons.
Unsure on where or how to get involved with the USW
Facilities are very well. All accessible to students
Bridgend- shops available to buy resources
Feedback is very throughout. there are many facilities available for students for help and guidance
