I am very happy with my overall experience so far on this course. I enjoy every second of it and look forward to the rest of it. I have met a lot of life long friends and that is including tutors.
my tutors have lots of connections with people in the industry and help all students network with the people they need to.
I like the studio time we can get and love learning practically. However a lot of my course is just us watching youtube and I feel like i could have just learnt half of the stuff at home and it was a waste of time coming in.
excellent. There is a brilliant studio with a nice variety of mics, compressors and other essential equipment.
excellent. very approachable tutors and there is always someone if i need help with anything.
My experience overall has been amazing. Other students and tutors I have met have been great. i cannot wait to see where this brilliant course can take me.
There are opportunities such as getting apprenticeships with organisations such as the BBC.
I like the fact that everything you are shown can be explained into simpler terms if you do not understand it at first.
The canteen has good food, the toilets are easily accessible. The technology that we use on our course is up to good standards and there is an easy to access smoking area but could do with more seats.
My college experience thus far has been a very pleasant and fun one. I have met a lot of very good people who are extremely knowledgable in their craft. The tutors are helpful and willing to help and the syllabus is engaging and fun but also challenging to push students to improve.
We have been involved in many seminars and masterclasses from industry professionals in order to improve out employability and to get an insight into what career options are available. There are also may internships in studios all over the country available to apply for through this course. Luckily, the studio on queens road works exactly how many professional studios do and so you get real world experience working with the same equipment as the pros.
The lecturers on this course have worked in industry and so you get taught many insider tips and tricks that you can only discover through others in the industry. We are given very little written essays to go along with practical coursework and so those who are not confident with their written skills can still get many marks through the practical process
There are many facilities available on this course. Music facilities include a fully kitted professional recording studio and live performance space as well as a 5.1 surround studio. Other facilities include multiple toilets and a canteen that serves hot food and a selection of breakfast options in the morning. Vending machines are available on campus also.
There are counsellors available to any student that attends bridgend college and there are many facilities to go to if you are in need of any advice.
Its been amazing because of all the different trips we go on and all the seminars to learn about the industry and also the staff is really friendly and everyone is easy to get along with
They help us to understand different job roles in the industry and give us guidance on how to improve those skills for the rob roles that we might be interested in
the thing i like most is the presentations that they use to help us learn and also how well they teach us.
They are really amazing with friendly staff
they support is excellent because i feel safe at collage and that i can talk to my tutors about anything and they help me through some stuff and also guide me in what i need to do after. for example i lost my nephew last year and i spoke to my tutors and they helped me through it and also they suggested counselling to help me deal through it as well
Enjoyable, great people, including staff and students. Although it is sometimes stressful. I have no regrets in picking Bridgend College to do my diploma in music production
Very good. Very helpful, talks about internships.
Positive - Very relaxed, lecturers are supportive Negative- Need more hours in performance space.
They're okay. Difficult to find a spare space for Studio 2
Very good. They are very understanding and give great feedback on work.
Overall so far, college has been fantastic. The facilities for learning the trade are second to none, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. The tutors are experienced within the field and can provide more than enough to help us succeed in this industry.
The college offers different courses if you are without the basic transferable skills such as english, maths and communication. The course also offers internships and work placements towards the end of the course so you can go into the working world straight after uni. The is also a careers office on site to help with any queries to do with career choices.
I love the way the course is taught, we do a good mix of theory alongside practical so we can learn about the equipment as well as being hands on with the equipment we are learning about. We get to use the studio whenever needed which is great in helping me learn about everything I need to know.
The facilities on site are ample, we have a good canteen and vending machines, as well as free breakfast in the morning. Although, the canteen could be open for longer. The parking on site is great, plenty of room available for all car users. The courses facilities are brilliant. With a great recording studio and a foley studio there is plenty of space to be creative. The practice rooms are also great fitted with professional equipment ready to use.
There are many counsellors on site if you need to speak to someone regarding anything from financial problems to mental wellbeing issues. Plus the tutors provide time to chat with them one to one if we have any queries or problems that we need to speak to them about.
It started off great with full interest in the course but now I am not enjoying the course
most - using the foley studio least - needless talking/lectures/master classes during assignment dates
Can be improved
good but don't reach out enough
I've had a supportive and critical approach to my work and I always feel I can speak up especially with my head tutor Adam if I encounter any problems. overall a very good experience
Informative and supportive with Adam, lacks that with other tutors
I have learned a lot and gained a lot of experience with this college and this department and it has prepared me for my life and carrer after the course. 10/10 would recommend.
By offering placement oppertunities with partners related to our course and giving experience to take to the world of work
The lessons are flexible and fun with good interaction betweem student and tutor. it's hard to find any negative with the teaching style in our department
Good and professional with access to really nice things for our course
I feel as if I could talk to any of my tutors about any problems i'm having, in or out of college. The welbeing department is active with our group also.
really fascinating and inspiring and educational as they are helping me devolve my skills and knowledge to start my career in the particular job role in the music industry
by giving us courses to help us learn the skills and education for our careers and to allow us to have access to the equipment to do this.
I think I like the way that the courses are being taught that the college they give us time to work on our coursework with any additional help from our tutors.
I believe that the facilities that are at the college are very good as they allow a lot of chances to develop our skills and to advance in our course work.
really good as they offer a lot of support
