The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

Allows the freedom to experiment but not enough teaching contact Promotes self development skills and has a happy studying environment which makes for happy days
The professional practice part of course is enough
Teachers very supportive and passionate but not enough contact time
Not sure at the moment I feel there has not been enough teaching contact time and have not been made aware of how to access other departments eg.printing...film etc.
Best thing I have ever done! Increased my self confidence and given me the skills to achieve the things I want in life. The tutors are extremely encouraging and supportive. Thank you.
No work placement on this course
Tutors are excellent. Wednesday sessions are often left without a tutor as they have Council meetings
Its an amazing way to improve employability as well as personal development can be at university around work and family commitments. Foundation degree is a great way to get a degree without 3 years commitment.

Helpful Sometimes hard to get hold of tutors
Love it, best decision I’ve ever made. The course, tutors, and peers have all helped to make the experience enjoyable. I’m really enjoying the creative freedom on the course and how freely I am able to express my own ideas, but also enjoy taking inspiration from my peers
We get taught and set deadlines working to a career level pace, judged on actual work standards so that we are prepared for employability
I enjoy the time we actually get with the tutors, as one on one learning is very helpful and more personal. The least best thing about the course is sometimes you can be waiting on other people to be finished talking to the tutor but that can’t really be helped
The facilities provided to us to help us in our course are really good.
Really helpful. We get constructive criticism and updates every step we go and we also get great one to one feedback every so often so you can really have a good thirty minute chat with your tutor to see what you’re succeeding in and which areas you need to improve upon
Brilliant the tutors are great and extremely supportive. Very helpful and nothing is ever to much trouble. I am currently enjoying every aspect of student life
With a dedicated careers team
It’s small classes so it’s more of a personal experience
Love my course. I have learnt a lot and the modules are relevant to me. Library staff are also great and very helpful. Car parking is a nightmare and needs addressing with more buses.
A module designed to help with industry ideas.
Love the design aspects. Dislike the essays and academic stuff.
Good sewing equip and computers. Studios are good. Art equip is also good.
Tutors are great. Very supportive.
Good and comfortable with lots of help available and lots of facilities to help with learning. The teachers are very helpful and give you time to increase your skills.
