Good experience overall as I was taught by outstanding tutors who got to know me as a person and therefore were able to support my individual needs. I would recommend the course for the individuals who would want to pursue primary teaching.
A good environment to be in and supportive tutors always at hand for advice
I am very impressed with the level of support I received and the feedback was always positive with areas for improvement guided by the tutor making it possible for me to better myself.
I would have preferred to be taught how to plan lessons and hopefully be observed teaching them during the course of the year.

I was already employed during my course but my tutors worked very well with the school by accommodating them during observations
I have had a great experience at this college. I have been coming here for many years and I will sure miss it now that I have finished my studies. I left high school with just about no GCSES. Blackburn college helped me achieve them. It took me 6 years’ worth of resits at this college to achieve a grade 4 in GCSE maths. In all that time it took they allowed me back time and time again to try again. They never gave up on me and never lost faith. They always believed I could achieve it which help me carry on trying even when I thought it was a waste of time. Tutors at Blackburn College helped me see that I could go far and that I should aim high. They encouraged me to go to the university centre. If it wasn’t for the push that I needed I don't think I would have gone. They helped me keep my determination to achieve my end results. They helped me believe that I was capable of becoming a teacher even when I thought my quiet personality/ shyness would hold me back. It has taken many years of hard work to get to where I am today and if it wasn't for Blackburn College, I don't think I would have achieved what I have today. The tutors here are fantastic at helping you grow into the person you want to be and know you can be. They help you find confidence in yourself and your abilities. They have always been there to support me academically or to be a listening ear when things got a little too much. They understood that a work/study balance is hard, and they will support you through it. I could not be more thankful and grateful for this college. They are the reason I have not given up on my dream. Blackburn College has helped me achieve a first degree and have even encouraged me to go for my masters. If you choose Blackburn College, you will not regret it. It is an amazing college and university with lovely small classes and fantastic tutors.
Great
The tutors here are fantastic they support you in whatever way they can. They believe in you even when you dont believe in yourself. They help you see that your goals are reachable and they are always there to support you wheather that is uni or in personal life. They make sure you achieve whatever you set out to achieve.
I love the way the course could work around normal life such as work and other commitments. I liked how moodle was updated consently so if you were unable to attend a session they would have everything online. I love how they respond quickly to any emails.
My overall experience has been fantastic so far! I've made a great group of friends because my class is so small, and we have a laugh with the tutors. I have excelled my expectations with grades and achieved A's and B+'s in my first year thanks to my tutors help and the content they deliver. The lessons are completely related to the job you want to do, and the course has made Me rethink what career I want to do because it takes you down so many higher paying jobs! I've learnt laws and legislations and skills that will benefit me in my future career and its only been first year! No one is judgemental which is great because I like to dress in all colours usually, but you can literally be yourself as the uni is inclusive and diverse. During the coronavirus, teaching has remained and all tutors have been in regular contact to make sure I'm OK and if I need any help. Theyve even worked out of hours to provide one to one support to get me through assignments! Really gone above and beyond! All materials have still be accessible.
The University has a library with a wide range of books and computers. The canteen is brilliant for if you want to bring your own lunch or buy your lunch and sit with friends! Each facility is easy to find and each have friendly staff to assist you. The toilets are always clean and stocked up and everywhere is always clean and tidy! 4th floor have amazing facilities if you take up a course around creativity.
The support has been fantastic! Honestly this is one of the best things about Blackburn uni. The disability team are there every step from when you first encounter them, to help you through the process of vetting help/support relating to your disability. The tutors are brilliant, always make time for you if you want to just have a chat, talk about something personal or get extra help with the work. They can all be accessed through seeing them in their offices, or via email or phone. They even go above and beyond when it's past their working hours! I haven't had counselling from the uni but I do get access to a specialist mentor, and I believe they are extremely good at supporting you each week. Feedback is always well informed on assignments and the tutors are on hand to dicuss the feedback even further if you want it to help further your academic skills. You do get a one to one with the academic tutor to make sure you are OK, see if there is anything you're struggling with etc and make next steps on how these can be achieved.
Things I like the most: Small classrooms so you get more time with the tutors during lessons to have your questions answered - you are given workshops just before an assignment is due -any content taught in class is uploaded to moodle so you can access it anytime -doing the course over 3 days has meant there is enough time to study before going home to make tea and breaks are provided inbetween lessons -practical activities are delivered to help you learn new skills -you are never made to do something you're extremely uncomfortable with, e.g shouting out in class, working in groups for a class activity (obviously for set assignments which require presentations etc you would have to dicuss that with the tutor) -study skills lessons are tailored to help you with anything you or the class is struggling with -you are taught how to do assignments like referencing etc before your first lot of assignments are due in Least things I like: -we need more time in research lessons -having work due in first thing after Christmas break but if it not feasible to be handed in on that date after Christmas, the tutors tend to reschedule it so everyone is given a fair opportunity

There are staff which can support you in finding placements or work, they will even help write a CV. There is a careers department situated in the College Campus and you can make an appointment and they are always there for assistance!
So far my experience has been challenging, learning again after years away from education, yet it has been so fulfilling, the photography department is a wonderful hub of activity, students from all The three years cross paths within the week, and are respectful and helpful to each other. We have a fantastic team of tutors who without doubt go above and beyond for all the students. For anybody considering Blackburn college to study the photography course, then I would definitely recommend it. I feel very much a part of my department and I am looking forward to my third year next year.
The facilities at Blackburn college are fantastic. The resources are helpful and saved me a fortune. Student’s have access to free Microsoft Office, which is a necessity with course work. Another Important resource is the student One Drive, this for my photography course in particular is a must to store all work and images safely. The library is helpful too with lovely staff. My photography course requires an up to date studio with relevant equipment to manage our needs, the technical side for post editing our images not only provides two classrooms fitted with computers and relevant software but, Also provides two sound proof post editing suites for regular post editing as well as videography Post editing. We have an equipment room where we can book items out to help us with our practical work, this is always available to us with informed staff to guide us. Our darkroom is perfectly formed and again very flexible on access as we often use this facility out of set hours, we are encouraged to use all facilities for personal projects along side our curriculum commitments. We are fully supported with pastoral, student union and other services within our building.
I could not have had better support, I have had two contrasting academic years, my first year was a fantastic time I did lots of extra things and enjoyed every minute. This year ( my second year) I have unfortunately experienced two Close family losses within months of each other. My main tutor has been a huge support, i have been given time to grieve whilst still encouraged to keep in touch, this was my lifeline and as contributed to me completing this year. I have also been offered counselling if needed. I always find the tutor feedback constructive and consistent. There is always opportunity to discuss any feedback, so there is no misunderstanding.
The tutors are amazing, our course have a fantastic team that communicate effectively to the students and each other. I Have personally enjoyed the how we evaluate our images as a class, this brings a trust and support to the group that is unique of any other course or work place I have experienced. The tutors are available and understand that as a mature student we have life’s and commitments outside of class and try to accommodate. I have only positives to say about the teaching. It has been a wonderful experience so far.

Blackburn college and university both have fabulous facilities. they are all very easy to access. The food facilities have a massive variety of choice and this is reasonably prices. If you are have difficulties learning they have an easy access point for someone to speak to and to gain further support. There is always someone to talk to for support this could be home life or study life.
The academic support is fantastic, My first year of study i was nervous thinking i could not finish the year, without the support from my tutors i might have finished the course. The tutors have always been available to speak to and reply via email very quickly. During a pandemic the contact was there near 24/7. Personal support is also superbe, struggling with dyslexia the support i received and was able to feel comfortable contacting and speaking to someone about my feeling was great. If you have a family matter that is cousing a great deal of stress and feel you have no one to talk to there is an onsite councillor you can call and speak to or face to face meeting. A ll round great team. jhgkhdhc

Always make you work to the best of your ability while encouraging you to do your best in every aspect

Amazing I have been going through a lot with my personal health and my tutors have always had an understanding of this and supported me throughout all of it, offered support where they can. Absolutely amazing support
My course was taught very well to us , they always offered support and recap where we needed it. If we needed a little more explanation they would offer it. Or try change it to a way we would understand. I always felt comfortable to ask question and speak about the subject and found I got a very good understanding of it all the best I could for my assignments

Blackburn college is very accommodating when your studying and working at the same time. They try to get careers advisors in which are relevant to the topic you are studying in which is beneficial to know what grades you need. While they get careers advisors they also get people who working in the industry your studying to give more of a prospect of what it’s like in everyday life.
Blackburn college is a fantastic opportunity to further your career prospects, meet new people and enjoy learning. I have no regrets whatsoever and as a mature student it has given me valuable knowledge in IT skills I thought I could never have.
Clean, welcoming with adequate facilities and a great library
The academic tutors have always been available to talk to and have been empathetic and encouraging.
It is incredibly versatile for single working mums like myself as it provides excellent prospects of furthering my career whilst still being able to work part-time and look after my family. The lecturers are incredibly dedicated and supportive and really go the extra mile in encouraging and mentoring students to achieve good grades. I have enjoyed every bit of the course and my only regret is that it has passed too quickly
