Overall, i have loved every minute of university. From making new friends and engrossing myself in Birmingham's wide range of cultures, to working hard to ensure i get the best possoble results when it comes round to exams. I wasn't sure if university was going to be for me when i first arrived but I have loved every minute and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead of me in the coming months and years.
The facilities at RBC are incredible. They have top of the range instruments available 7 days a week to practice on and they are flexible in allowing students to book a variety of practice rooms, from recital halls to individual practice rooms. The facilities are flawless and any issies are sorted swiftly and to the highest possible standard.
The feedback provided by tutors is of the highest quality. The are very critical but also suggest a variety of methods in which i can use to improve my work.
I feel students are extremely well represented and electives remain in constant contact with us. The student union facilities are also very good.
Birmingham conservatoire is in the perfect place. Its only 2 minutes away from my accommodation and is about a 10 minute walk to the bullring. It is also very close to a wide variety of local amenities and allows me to have an insight into other cultures which are in Birmingham at the moment with festivals such as the festival of light which took place recently. There is also a great choice of restaurants and bars in which to enjoy an evening meal or a quick bite to eat.
The range of societies and sports on offer is extremely good as there is something for everyone to enjoy or even try new things.
I like the wide variety of taster sessions on offer which are very hands on and give a practicalelement to my learning. The teachers when having small group or one on one lessons adapt their teaching style in order to get the best out of me. I cannot fault any of the teaching methods I have been exposed to up to this point.

My univeristy is giving me a wide range of transferable skills to help build my knowledge to allow me to have more of a portfolio career where I am able to show employers I am a very skilled and hard working person who is able to teach others a wide range of skills.
University locks gives me a sense of security and i feel safe living here. The halls themselves are in superb condition and are well maintained. It is very central to the city centre with it being 10 minutes from the bullring and only 2 minutes from the conservatoire. Finally, it is extremely good value for money. It is only £148 per week and i feel this is massively under proced for the quality of the flats and the service provided by staff members is impeccable.

The teachers are great and are always supportive. The atmosphere in college is amazing. Everyone knows eachother so it feels like home. Only thing that lets it down is the facilities.
will be great after new building has been built

Being at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for my Master and PSP studies has been a great plesure and opportunity. All the courses and classes I attended were eyes-(or better ears)opener experiences, that really inspired my curiosity and shaped me in a better-rounded and versed musician.
Pretty good.
I think it’s amazing how tutors and teachers really cares about students at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. It’s impressive how they follow the student’s development from small personal issues through how to handle a professional music career and build a future.
The college is a beautiful new building, close to other Birmingham City University’s buildings. It’s not very far from the city centre (around 10 minutes walk).

I live in a Nice part of the city, 15 min walking from College and I think for the location and the nice accommodation I pay a fair fee. I like very much Birmingham and living here.
Thank you for your feedback
Very very intense work but the best experience ever!!! I am having so much fun and meeting so many interesting and driven people. It is a true pleasure to be here
There is a brand new building which an extensive amount of facilities for all types of musicians.
Very good and helpful
There is an average amount of representation for the conservatoire. However we are pushing for a clearer and more independent form of representation for the conservatoire although it is linked to BCU.
Yes it is close to a number of small shops which are perfect for food shopping and for most of the needs of a student.
There are many societies and sports. However as a music students I have to be careful of the number of contact sports that I am playing!
I like the way in which you can play with the people who are teaching you. However, some of the musicians are lacking in certain areas

At the beginning of the term there are a number of opportunities to sign up to organisation who provide employment opportunity’s. Also, as musicians, the teachers and college will try their very hardest to provide you with gigs and playing opportunities
There is a constant police and security presence around the accommodation which makes everyone feel safe and comfortable. The condition of the accommodation is great and is very modern and clean. The cost is also quite reasonable for the quality of living

The facilities and many of the teachers are to a very high standard but the overall organisation of the course is often messy and it is hard to find support.
Teachers are the best aspect worst is the organisation and some staff can feel a little “all boys club” like

Loved it! It’s been the best time of my life: the course exceeded my expectations and I learn a lot everyday, I’ve made so many new friends from a variety of backgrounds and I love living in Birmingham.
They are functional but also not the best: when it rains heavily the ceiling falls in and tubes have to be run all over the studios to drain the water, which is inconvenient.
Very good! The teachers genuinely care about the students and have a personal tutor system where the tutors really do bother to check in on you.
The student union has done a good job making their voice heard and helping students with issues such as housing and finance without being asked.
Yes! It’s situated fairly near the city centre, and is a vibrant cultural hub where there’s always different type of art to appreciate. At the same time, it’s not close enough to the city to be a disturbance to classes.
I cannot participate as I have classes from 8-6 everyday but they seem diverse!
I love the variety of tutors and individual care and attention they give to each student to help them grow. What I like least is probably the long breaks we have between classes.

My course is one that directly trains you for the industry and they do it very well equipping us and connecting us with recent graduates.
Very good security, conveniently located by school and near Tesco, cost is a bit steep considering the frequent breaking of equipment such as the lifts, WiFi and kitchen appliances.

I really enjoy my university life. The facilities of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire make me feel incredibly privileged and the staff are very welcoming. I love the community feel and have made life long friends!
Takes a while for marks to get back in from tutors however the facilities and support we get from the conservatoire is impressive and well worth the money! We get an hour a week of 1-1 tutoring that would cost me over £80 a week privately! As well as access to multi million pound facilities.
