So far my experience of studying fine art and the BCU has been very good. I am having a great time here and if you come here you will too!

Having gained a degree at another university I can compare BCU and its not good! BCU is horrific! The majority of lecturers are not academics in the slightest and assignments and exams are not marked consistently. Room changes and cancelled lectures are common place, as are over crowded teaching environments (numerous times ive had to sit on a table at the back because there are no seats). Many students dont get placements due to poor staff organisation, essential for passing the degree on my particular course, and getting any assistance or advice is made very difficult (e.g my personal tutor left her job and I only found out when I made several enquiries into why I wasnt getting a response to my emails and her office was always empty). Would say more but not enough space, just dont do it!

Sometimes the organisation on my course is a tad poor. Lecturers and tutors extremely passionate about their subject areas. Good feedback on practical work. Reasonably good facilities. Good open-plan brand new campus, so everything is more accessible to the average student

Speaking purely based on experience of my course I had no problems with the course itself and found the lecturers to be very supportive. My campus is roughly 15 mins away from the city centre which makes travel and socialising easier and there are a lot of extracurricular actitivites available for those who wish to take advantage of that

Birmingham wasn't my first choice but now I am here, oh wow it is amazing, the lecturers are very supportive and so are students, amazing experience
