Music Production - CertHE

I havent been made aware of any union. There no 'campus life' apart from an occasional event organised by lecturers. The facilities are okay but nothing special, the library is tiny, and the microphone stands seems to dwindle in numbers more week by week. However the equipment used for practice and studying is often of high standard, however there is little to no IT support here as all IT is down through the English offices

BIMM is great, could need a little bit more rooms and equipment but otherwise, everything is there!

Music Business, Events and Media - BA (Hons)

The best is the students and the amount of resources the university provides. On the other hand, I expected a bigger workload and more classes for the price that I am paying. Since this is my first time studying something in the creative industries, I am not sure how the studies should be like, but it feels like there should be more tests inbetween the assessments and academic pressure.

I like the modules that are taught, the lecturers are very experienced and knowledgeable. I am struggling however to find a personal connection to the course as a black women, I feel as if the module context and examples used within lecture content doesn’t have much correlation to multiple ethnicities I come from nor the musical genres that are connected to my race I feel that is not expressed and shown enough, despite this I think it’s a good university so far and I am appreciative of having the opportunity to being on the course I’m on

honestly the classes are amazing, very clear why we are learning the topic and for what outcome. i enjoy my studies very much. i think the applications for students can be improved, the fact we cannot print by ourselves is bit ridiculous as we are literally a film school and the info hub only prints till 5pm when classes are till 7pm

Music Production - BA (Hons)

University rating (5)

The most important and fundamental thing about this university is the opportunities. The community and people you meet here put you on the industry track and immerse you in a real-life context. Also, the opportunity to work with all the equipment the university provides greatly helps the learning process.

Music Business, Events and Media - BA (Hons)

I started at BIMM in September 2025 in the Music Business Fiudnation Diploma. I attended multiple pre semester indusction days that the college offered and I would highly recommend them. I was able to mingle with other future students and make friends before my first day even started. Everyone was so friendly, which I think I can account to BIMM being a college for such a specific group of people with again, a specific shared interest. The days were planned by the college and the days were planned so well. I massively appreciate the Student Support team for their incredible work in this time. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and incredibly welcoming to me and my fellow students. This really reduced the amount of daunt I felt going into my first day. My first semester was such a blast. My stream in college is made up of a small number, only 5 in my class. This allowed the lecturers to really seem like they care about us individually, and gave us time in the class to converse between each other and the lecturers more than I’ve felt in other courses. Specifically, the tutorials and individual feedback I have attended and received have been outstanding. I have also been privileged to attend a number of wonderful masterclasses from professionals in the field. For me, this alone puts BIMM at a standard above the rest. I have, and will continue to, recommend BIMM to anyone pursuing a career in the music industry.

BA Commercial Modern Music

University rating (4)

The course is brilliant, the lecturers are great, the student life is mighty, and I look forward to being there every day. Just wish they had more capital overall, because BIMM Dublin really needs an upgrade across the board. It needs a centralised, cohesive campus (e.g RCSI, NCAD, etc..), rather than three buildings with no distinct individual purposes.. They have the state-of-the-art equipment, yes, but only one of each. For example, one good recording studio, they cheaped-out on the rest. One good drum kit rehearsal space, they cheaped-out on the rest. One good social space, and you get the idea... Overall, would recommend this course to anyone who wants to take their music performance skills to a professional level, you will achieve that, while having a lot of fun doing it, but it won't be in the most comfort.. I'm happy to be a CMM student at BIMM Dublin.

Popular Music Performance - BMus (Hons)

University rating (4)

My experience at BIMM University has been a mix of inspiring and frustrating. The best part is being around so many creative, driven musicians, it really pushes you to level up. The course is very industry-focused, with loads of chances to perform, collaborate and network, and most lecturers actually work in the industry, which helps. On the downside, organisation and communication can be a bit messy at times, especially around assessments. It’s also not super academic. Overall, it’s great if you’re self-motivated and serious about music, but you definitely have to take initiative.
