The annual Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs) highlight the incredible work carried out by institutions for their students. Due to Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were not collected on uni campuses as usual, but instead based on submissions from institutions, which were then judged by our special student panel.

my college experience so far is going very well as i have had no problems with anything. i am very clear with everything that i need to know . such as timetables that have changed over the last couple of months. i am happy with the lecturers that i have and the topics and subject that i am learning
it makes efforts by providing talks with previous students and other photographers from all sorts whether its fashion or documentary. it helps by giving us an understanding of what we have to come in the future and the interesting journeys that we will take in building our career. the college has also provided us with work experience where we will actually be getting paid to give us a feel of what a job in the photography industry will be like.
i like how supportive my tutor is, he talks about his own experiences with photography from different projects to his own magazine. what i also like is how easy he is to talk to, hes very attentive and a very good listener. what i dislike about how i'm being taught is how confusing the modules are as its different to the ones that i have had previously.
the toilets in the college could do better. the computers that we have are very good, they are always working which is a good thing in case of deadlines. we have a very good up to date gym with equipment that everyone can use.
the support in the college is very good because there are different and a lot of departments that are very useful, from medical to a job centre to help students look for a job in the course they are studying. the college offers a wide range of support for people with learning difficulties they aim to give equal opportunities to everyone.
Excellent service, nothing to compare to other colleges, highly recommended to all our family & friends. All you need you can find at Barking & Dagenham College.
The college supported me through the years and allowed me to achieve my qualifications which helped to find a good paid job in Government industry. Would like to thank the college and everyone involved!
The course was challenging but the teachers were very supportive, this again helped me to achieve my targets
Excellent brand new buildings & equipment available for everyone
I have loved my time at the college so far, I have learnt so much and enjoyed every minute of it. The smaller class sizes make the experience much more enjoyable and personal, feeling as though I am getting the most out of the course. I highly recommend studying photography here as I cannot fault the course, department or tutors. It has increased my confidence and belief in myself as well as expanded my knowledge immensely.
The college are always getting people who already work in the industry to come in and do talks which is really beneficial and allows us to make contacts within the industry and learn more about it. They are also offering some great trips and work experience opportunities.
I love the structure of the course, it is well organised, the tutors are really enthusiastic and knowledgeable and so willing to help in any way they can. It has the right balance of freedom and guided learning to make it enjoyable.
The facilities are amazing, there is access to large studios, lots of equipment which can be borrowed and booked out to suit your times. The darkroom facilities and equipment is the best I have seen throughout any of my previous educational institutions.
ok I like the teachers that are in my department of IT computing and I like the canteen area because its a very big place for everyone to sit down to eat and have and socialise as well
they have workshops
what I like the most of the teaching is one particular teacher who is called henry he has blend of serious and enjoyment and making you understand what he wants you to learned about when he is teaching in the classroom and you can always helps you with your work when you don't understand he doesn't mind repeating himself if you don't understand the least I don't like is maybe the teaching can be cut to maybe 30 minutes talk then just let us get on with the task
I don't think they are any meeting that I know of
the facilities are good but could be better by having better chairs
the support is good because if I have a issue I know I can go the teacher of curse and explain to the an very bad issue going through my life and they will understand it and not judge in particular the teacher henry and another called graham and shafat these teachers I can talk to if any problems in my life
It was good and I will definitely recommend BDC for other students to attend. The Computing departments has improved immensely within the part year with new modern computers, more fulltime teachers and the quality of teaching has improved.
By sending us on field trips and organizing career enhancing units
Very Academic Teaches very well, class sessions are largely interesting and informative Support students to complete their work Good assessment feedback and on time Very friendly too
Could do better with the HE Student Union
Good and dedicated computer labs, excellent forensics lab, great canteen but no HE students lounge have to share with FE students
Good, sandwich between Dagenham and Romford within short distances with good city life (pubs, parks, cinemas, shopping malls, banks, food joints)
Currently no that good, college need to work on that.
I will say very good
