University is balanced, some days are very overwhelming and stressful and otherdays are very chill and tranquil. I have much less stressful days. They normally come around assignment times or when finance is lowww.
Recently I found out about CV360, that my University offer. Also we have a careers portal, I don’t have much knowledge on It
The fact that I can teach myself with the online ilearn resources, if do not completely understand the lesson.
I enjoy the online facilities more than the physical resources at my university. This is because all of my lessons can be viewed online and Ican even take a quiz about what I have learnt at the end.
Yes, My University is a maximum of 1hour away if I take a bus, I tend to take a train, So my door step to my classroom it’s exactly 30 minutes. It’s also very central so you can eat a posh healthy lunch, or an affordable sainsburys sandwich might be more up your street.
It’s good. I don’t tend to ask for it, but I know they’re always there. Student support at my University, do tend to check up on us for feedback and general wellness questions
So far I cant fault the distance learning experience at Arden. I have studied on line courses elsewhere and Arden by far supersedes previous experiences. Easy to consume, good quality content, good guidance documents and excellent tutor support and availability.
The uni offer a multitude of ways to increase student employability. Student forums, newsletters and free modules for self assessment and development are a few.
The distance learning modules are broken down into easily digestible chunks which makes it easy to fit in around work and family. The mix of presentations, videos and research mean that you dont tire of a single approach to learning.
As a distance learning student I have found the Moodle software used by Arden excellent. It is responsive and fail safe. The uni provide sufficient notice of any down time to ensure you can build it into your study plan. Tutor support is prompt and factual. I would highly recommend Arden Uni to any Distance Learning Student.
N/A Distance Learning student
my overall university experience is a mix view because I have had some ups and down because I was student rep of my class once and they didn't like it and they were really horrible to me but there are some moments at university which I enjoy which was where we would have a party if it is someone's birthday or end of term
it does help me in a way because it is building my knowledge and it is building my skills and it is giving me different options instead of one option
the things I like most about the way my courses is taught is the way the tutors do have different ways of teaching and they sometimes go by the Ilearn or they bring their own materials and the least things I like about the way my course is taught is the way some people will interrupt the tutor or the way the tutor will pick on people if they are talking
the facilities are ok apart for the girls toilets never have paper towels to dry your hands after washing them and also the hand dryers are very slow. we don't have a library and also I think we need more good teachers and need a lunch area for the students to go and sit instead of sitting in the reception because we will be disturbing other classes or other students trying to do their work
my university is in a good location it does take me like just under 1hr but if there is any trouble I could ring them and let them know
the support is excellent because if I do have any problems then there are members of staff I can go to talk to because I found it helps to talk to someone and if there is a issue with the network then there is always a IT person on hand to fix it
My experience at Arden is absolutely amazing! I was really scared to go to Uni as i am a mature student and was out of education for some years. However the ilearn is just incredible you can read on the go. The student support gave me all the help i need to make my experience even better. The tutors are great.. Best experience so far glad I chose to study at Arden. Great University especially Holborn campus.
By teaching us interpersonal and professional skills to succeed.
I like the fact that i can read my lessons online before coming to my lectures . Don't like when some tutors just read from ilearn and have nothing else to contribute to the class
Great. We only wish we had a canteen
The student support is the Best.. Wow the staff are so helpful. They are all amazing. Some Tutors give constructive feedback!
Overall, The uni offer assignments over exams so if you dont like exams this is the place but the course is compact so can be stressful at times. work-life is balanced.
Work placements are not aided and have to be independent findings, there is information on what a student can do. discussion skills are used every class session and presentation skills too.
The LLB course, I was dropped straight into a module without any basic teaching about the law or english legal system or foundations so i have no context and find it difficult at first to understand terminology
NO Lectures - Seminars ONLY - More class discussions ONLINE Library - NO Actual Library Canteen and coffee available
Based in city towers not actual campus, No social life
Student Support - Excellent Tutors - Depends on tutor
It's been a pleasure joining Arden University because I have improved alot with my academics. Broadened my understanding about the way I handle certain issues with the skills I have gained. Also analysing things critically.
Arden University has helped me in such way that, since joining i have achieved a lot. I have gained confidence in presentation, being an independent learner and also interview skills. Engaging myself with career portal, i have learnt how to answer interview questions and creating an Outstanding CV for my job search. Recently I secured a job because of the way i answered the questions during my interview and I give all the credit to the career portal. And please I urge every student at Arden to get yourself engaged with it.
The way my course is taught is fine but some lecturers i find them arrogant.
There good but some needs improvement.
Student support team is very supportive .
I have had a few issues but they have always been resolved to my satisfaction. Overall my experience has been very good. I would recommend Arden University to anyone considering studying for a degree because the degrees are relevant to today's employment opportunities,
They supply a careers portal that is full of useful hints and relevant information
The degree is totally relevant to my personal ambition. I never felt like I was on my own because I had access to a tutor to help and guide me through each module. The length of time it took to mark the assignments was always stressful.
My degree was distance learning.
My degree was distance learning.
The support offered was very good, student support always replied within a few days. If it was important they were always available by phone.
I have had a wonderful study experience and I believe its the best thing and decision a mature student like me has made I terms of academic study and achievement,
I have made the effort to prepare my CV and Personal Statement that I will be using as well as a Career Development Portfolio(CPD), I have oner 5years work experience in the Health and Social care sector. The support I have relied on has been the online student resources and communicating wit STUDENT SUPPORT, and being in my second year I am now in a position to target employment that will be geared towards my career in senior roles of management. CAREER OBJECTIVE To use my education and training experience by working in a team and at an individual level in order to accomplish assigned tasks, this I can achieve using communication in order to meet my work-related expectations. When employed I not only bring experience but will work to deliver results through dedication and hard work. I am open-minded and willing to learn and I can fit well in any environment. BACKGROUND BRIEF Bluebird Care is my current employer since 2012 and over a period of time that I have gained good knowledge and understanding of the working the Health and Social Care sector about the processes and procedures with the various agencies. My knowledge about this puts me above to be considered for this application.
I made a choice to pursue further education and so far I am enjoying the course especially the theories, concepts and policy frameworks. The management aspects are areas am keen to learn further as they will be relevant in my progression career-wise. The course is well structured and fits well with my other activities.
Am a home study student (PART-TIME).
Great. I am a British student living in London.
100% I access my tutors via email and phone calls, I always make the use of the feedback period when doing the module as checking with the student support when I need to find out something in relation with my course studies.
Most of the experiences have already been stated in the earlier submissions. For a given topic, more than enough information is given which, if followed and read, would even dilute the learning outcome being targeted. I love my university's approach to teaching and I hope to gain more as I progress.
Coming from a background of O-levels since 1988 and having worked at the operational level in an aluminum smelter industry for over 25 years, this opportunity came as God-sent. There was a time I gave up hope as far as tertiary education is concerned but Arden University has made it possible for me now and I'm so much happy. So far the learning outcomes are helping me to develop and unearth more transferable skills in areas of communication, IT, personal skills like listening, interpersonal skills and the like. I have been made to be more aware of myself and my environment and this one experience I so much cherish. I hope to further develop these skills further as I progress in the studies. So far my institution is helping to re-write my CV in a more professional manner - currently under construction. I have developed a Personal Development Plan (PDP) first ever in my 52 years life. I also have in place a SWOT Analysis and a Personal Skills Audit which would further developed as I progress. It feels like I have a new life, very exciting and challenging and also leading me to discover a lot for myself.
More than enough information is given for every aspect of my studies and I so much appreciate it. Sometimes study materials are even superfluous in that you are referred to many other sources which, if followed , could even digress from the main lesson outcomes to be achieved as an independent learner. It's only a matter of taking time to read in order to get full grasp of what is being is been taught. However, it sometimes become frustrating when would have wished at certain points for an expert advice instantly from a Tutor or lecturer. Characteristic of distance learning, in all such cases, one has to type the question to somebody out there and wait for a response. This response normally takes hours or even days to come but you still have to wait.
Very good and supportive
Very supportive and forthcoming with assistance
I have encountered errors and reported to Uni support and tutors and they were handled. I think having a University that supports you in all aspect of your studies is very important. Especially if you are doing it online. Arden is a good online University.
They give career advice. Assistance and tutorials in CV writing and also latest vacancies in my field
I like the fact of mixed way of teaching. There are videos and reading material for teaching a topic.
library is good but still can have access to more books.
I do studies online
Support is excellent.
