I really love university life, as it has allowed me to become the person I want to be. I've been able to mature, learn new skills outside of university and made strong friendships that can and will last a lifetime.
Very good
The support available at the AECC is incredible.
The SU are amazing, helpful and set up events in and around uni that are great. The work they do is for the students and t it is seen when events have been planned, or bar nights have been sorted out. It also shows in terms of gym equipment, educational needs, help and advice with university and many other tasks.
Yes because we have Southbourne high street within a 10 minute walk, Boscombe high street within a 10 minute walk also. There are plenty of large and smaller shops around, plenty of charity shops and nice places to go out and eat.
Because it is a small university, there are not as many available as others however there are sport societies that we can access at Bournemouth University.
I love the practicals and hands on experience we learn here. However, I feel there should be more recorded lectures for those who cannot attend/unwell so it is easier to catch up with the information.

I'm not sure
Overall my experience has been positive. I feel fortunate to have joined when the university was a little bit smaller so areas were not as crammed. Recently it seems like there are too many students for the facilities provided. I feel like I have grown from someone with limited medical knowledge to now being able to diagnose, treat and help my patients wellbeing and feel ready to leave the AECC bubble and start my own career. Thanks AECC for being there for me.
AECC is a small university so we do not get the facilities of larger universities, however, we the space allocated they have made good use of it. I feel the gym requires a makeover and the library space is lovely since it’s renovation. I do feel that the amount of new students is putting pressure on the available space.
Fantastic team in student services. They helped me through a tricky stage and I cannot praise them enough. Some tutors will give wonderful feedback, especially in technique classes whereas other seem uninterested.
Some are better than others. News updates around the university are non exist this year.
Live in my own house so can not comment on rental. Amenities around the university are small but, towards southbourne, very pretty with a lot of food shops
Due to the university being very small it is slightly lacking. There is no drama classes but quite a lot of sporting opportunities.
Knowing everyone in your year makes us feel like a family, you all feel like you have got through the course as a team. The lack of tutors in clinic in final year is exasperating, it really has soured my final year and I feel my patients have suffered as a result. That being said, the tutors that are there are fantastic.

Always see new jobs being offered on the careers page in final year. Also the offer an event to meet employers later this year. During university there are opportunities to join the reception team occasionally and become a student model for the ultrasound clinic on a week by week basis.
Enjoy to study here although something still not in university standards, like our size of uni...the students in here are very passionate on their study that influenced me in study ...also, the uni area is the best in UK Our new principal who is a nice and open mind person
I like the dry lab open for students anytime
Personal counselling and students service for language and study assistance
It will appreciate if they can care more about the facilities and service in uni, e.g, some bench got broken, help students to find the part time job
Yes, especially close to uni
Quite variety of sport
Most like: pathology Least like: nutrition

No comment yet as haven’t explore, but it’ll be great if uni can cooperate with private Chiro clinic or even NHS to offer some part TT job or even internship
It’s been good, not excellent, lots of knowledgeable staff, but feel there are many gaps missing in the curriculum that shouldn’t just be left to ‘self directed learning’
Lack of consistency between lecturers, lack of communication between lectures (don’t synchronise well with each other) Very knowledgeable tutors though

Future careers pathway event and job adverts on moodle
I’m glad I chose this path and though I had lots of hurdles along the way, I’d do it all over again. However, I would have to say that you need a definite love for chiropractic as your motivation, most people who don’t have this, drop out.
Library is too small and cafeteria too expensive, but otherwise really nice location and facilities
Very good support academically and emotionally
Students are well represented, very active SU, try to make everyone feel included by introducing the champion scheme. Open door policy is great, always approachable
10 mins from major food shops, 10 min walk to the beach and most students live within a 10 min radius
It’s great that it is practical based. Only thing I’d say is that the detail that is required in some of the units outgrows the purpose of what we need it for, which makes the motivation to study for those subjects, hard.

We are well trained within our fields due to our practical year in the on site clinic. They further provide us with speed meeting style interviews in the final year with potential employers
Overall I've had a very positive experience during my studies. The staff are very helpful and are easy to contact and talk to. The facilities suit my needs and it's all kept to a good standard.
top notch
very good
really friendly and approachable. Give their best to fix complaints
yes
ok, limited if you don't like rugby, football or netball
most: - fun - engaging - helpful lecturers Least: - big blocks of lecture time

Internships with lectures
It is a good experience. I can feel that we are so specialised and focus on our goals which is to become a good chiropractor. We are a small institution, which can be good as we all feel like family to each other and always support each other among different year groups.
We have plenty of chiropractic benches, ranging from basic to high quality which allows student to experience how is it like working under different circumstances. Our uni building is a historical building with beautiful walls and glass decorations. Our library was used to be a Chapel and it was newly renovated last year in 2019, and now have more pc spaces.
Tutors will inform us with available consultation slots where we can make appointment with them for any academic consultations. We have our student services which support us with any problems of social, counseling and even English for academic purposes.
Pretty good. They always keep us updated through email and posters around the uni building. Taking feedback every semesters regarding teaching units, lecturer, anything to improve.
It's a 15 minutes walk from the uni, less than 10 minutes to the Boscombe town centre and another interesting one it's just 10 minutes walk from the beach. So it is quite a strategic place.
There's quite a variety of sports in our uni, our rugby team and women's net ball team are one of the toppers in local and national competitions. Our student union organise sports events from time to time to keep students active. We also have a gym building with a cheap gym membership.
It involves a lot of practical work from year 1 of the course. Which I think is important than a unit with just theory without actually practising those techniques. We also get to observe interns in the clinic which allows an early exposure to how is it like practising in the UK.

We have the largest chiropractic teaching clinic in the Europe, where student in their final year get to be an intern in the clinic, treating real patients from everywhere. That teaching clinic accommodates about 50000 patients per year, which allows intern to be exposed to a variety of patients and different conditions. The uni also sponsor student to seminars such as the BCA conference and in campus conference expose students to many different speakers which are also experienced practising chiropractors.
I have enjoyed studying at the AECC and am glad I chose it over different institutions. They staff are great and lecturers personal experience in practice provides lots of information you can't get from books
Facilities are good and they are constantly renovating different areas of the uni
Very good. They have always helped me with any problems
The SU are good but their communication with students is not always great
The university is close to the beach, private accomodation is very close however halls are further away. There are lots of cafes and shops close to uni
There is an increasing variety to sports teams and societies. Whilst there are not as many as other university's there is a variety
I like the structure and think a lot of the information is useful however some things through the first couple of years seem a little irrelevant

They provide speed meets and careers events towards the end of the year
Absolutely great! I would recommend this university to anyone that wants to become a chiropractor. Still needs improvements, but we are half way there ! Everyone is putting effort in making your day better, including professors !
Can be better
Very good on both sides
Very well equipped
Yes
Plenty of sport societies, enough to try a new sport whenever you want

Events for work placements
Very enjoyable, the best thing about the university is the staff. All very kind and supportive and you can tell they have the students best interests at heart. Staff have always supported me with any problems I've encountered and I love the variety of people and the different characters at uni. Very engaging, welcoming environment
Getting better, the facilities are good but limited in terms of space. It can be hard to find areas to study, particularly for practical skills
It is good but a lot is changing at the moment and it is hard to keep up with policies and procedures
Very impressive. They seem to be keen to listen and take on board what people want. Only issue is that the social rep doesn't always let us know about events with enough notice
Yes, everything is very central and there is a big bus station close by
Not that good, there is a very limited variety of sports teams but they seem to be getting better. I think they need more organisation and funding
I like how hands on they are and engaging. The teaching is excellent. However, I think that too much is packed into year 2 and 3, which cause people to burn out and suffer. The observation period in year 3 needs to start earlier to allow more time to get things done. You're expected to put in an impossible number of hours of revision. This is difficult especally if you have to work part time.

I know they do a speed dating event in final year but I feel like more infornation and guidance needs to be provided earlier on
