Wembley is an amazing place to study. It is the most iconic stadium in the country, where all finals take place, so to be studying there it feels absolutely amazing. You get to meet loads of different professionals in sport and get so many chances to experience lots of different things. We get given so much support from lecturers and the services involved with the uni. The lessons are really engaging and are so interesting and unique. It may be different to the typical uni experience. But I don’t think any university has so much to offer with experiences and job opportunities and chances to build up your CV

Football Coaching & Management BA (Hons)

I knew I wanted to come to UCFB when I first came for an open day in year 11. I loved that I’d be having some lectures in a stadium, a practical part in another amazing facility and that the contacts I’d get would be amazing, especially to get me started in a coaching career. At the very start of first year, I was receiving tens of emails about opportunities out there for me to apply for and loads of ways to start building my coaching CV. These opportunities have continued to grow throughout my experience here at UCFB. I knew I would choose to stay in London to study at the Wembley campus, as I couldn’t imagine choosing any other stadium than the world-famous Wembley Stadium. It’s incredible having lectures overlooking the pitch, and living in the UCFB student accommodation which involves walking past the stadium any time I go out. The most amazing experience is when it’s a match day in Wembley, and it finally hits me that I actually live next to the stadium! The only downside to being in Wembley, is the travel to get to any facilities for the practical element of the course. Having to leave student accommodation nearly an hour before lectures and having to pay for travel to and from locations can be a bit inconvenient, but the opportunity to study at The Hive, with their incredible facilities, makes the travel and cost pretty worth it! I keep sharing my experience with family and friends, and to say that I study a football degree, in Wembley Stadium, sounds awesome to most of them, and creates such a conversation with new people I meet!

BA (Hons) International Football Business

University rating (4)

Located in Wembley Park, UCFB Wembley is a ideal place to study if you want to develop a career in the sports/events industry, with plenty of things going on. UCFB isn't an old, academic steeped university, it is modern and it allows you to practically understand the industry. Being pro-active in terms of looking for work experience or opportunities is key however, as having the degree is helpful but you need to go out and find opportunities to put what you learn into practice. The attraction of Wembley Stadium is an obvious bonus point, but you have to work hard and develop yourself professionally at the same time, and the connections UCFB have with clubs, organisations and businesses won't set your whole career up, but will help you on your way. Ultimately it isn't a university you can go to, just go to classes and graduate, gaining work experience is key. Given it is a new university, the campus feel of a regular, bigger and older university isn't there, however once in the UCFB buildings there is a slowly progressing campus feel. Add onto that, student life and the student union doesn't operate in the way a traditional university does, it is much smaller in size and operation.

In all honesty, you need to come to this uni with a different mindset from others. The quality of lectures and seminars is poor. However, The opportunities you have access to are incredible and when speaking to people in the industry it is never about your degree it is normally about who you know and what work you have done. Yes, it is important to do well at the degree but make sure you get out and find work.

It is brilliant to study in state of the art facilities which replicate the modern media working place. The contacts to the working industry are amazing and like no other of other sports-related courses at other universities.

The Global Sports Summits on offer are great and I can't wait to go to another one next year. However I believe the facilities on offer could be improved, for example the library only being open 9-5 isn't the best personally as Students have hectic schedules. Lots of universities offer 24 hour libraries throughout the weekdays to accommodate for this, which I belive would be best.

UCFB may not be the traditional university but this does not hold it back. As UCFB gives you the work experience opportunities that no other uni could offer through its long list of contacts throughout football and the sports world. At UCFB I have been lucky enough to attend one of the global summits that they run. These global summits give students opportunities to network with industry professionals. Alongside this it gives students the opportunity to experience sports that they may have never experienced before.

Would not recommend sell you an absolute dream with the location, however teaching standard was poor only one teacher was actually good. The standard of living and the experience for a student is not enjoyable as well. My advice would be to choose a university with a better reputation for education and is cheaper for cost of living!

Absolutely zero support, some tutors take weeks or months to reply. No understanding or flexibility with personal difficulties and been disadvantaged with low grades. Thought about dropping out and very disappointed all round. Can’t recommend to anyone that wants a good result or has any personal circumstances that may affect studies.
