I love the campus and the atmosphere we have. its a beautiful place to study and i have enjoyed my time here. All the staff are wonderful, I have a brilliant supervisors and enjoy my course. I have learnt a lot whilst at Lancaster However, i find that the student union is broken, it does not uphold its own beliefs. The societies may work but the actual student union body is useless. it needs and overhall, and needs attention brought to the actions of the staff and how people follow their regulations.

Chemistry BSc (Hons)

Exceptional campus with great facilities, and easy to navigate with signs. Lots of opportunities for societies ect and there is something for everyone. Working alongside other like-minded students and lots of opportunities to make new friends helps for a great work/life balance. Friendly and helpful staff bring a welcoming atmosphere. Many opportunities created by the university for undergraduate jobs and other things which help in bolstering student’s cv. A variety of courses available for students to choose from, my course (Chemistry) is enjoyable and academically challenging which helps me to push myself to work to my maximum capacity and the facilities and staff are amazing to help assist me to work as best as I can.

Linguistics BA (Hons)

Lancaster is a great place to study for a variety of reasons: The city is small and walkable, making spending time there really fun, especially as it's a short bus or cycle ride from campus and there are plenty of seasonal events. As a campus university, it's easy to be friendly as you see familiar faces all the time. The world's small in the best possible way! The library is also expceptional, allowing you access to 99% of the texts you'll ever want or need through the digital service with plenty of physical media available as well. A great place to work and relax that's open 24/7 during the university's open seasons. The support available is fantastic, but there are some issues whereby if the more open events conflict with your timetable figuring out how to approach the services can be a bit daunting. Additionally, while the SU does represent the students and provide great services, it has been slow on taking stances on important issues in the past. There is the issue of a member staff who publically make transphobic comments remaining employed by the psychology department without repremand. The careers department and some reasearch initiatives also work with highly immoral companies who actively contribute to the genocide in Gaza and are deliberately ignorant.
