Politics - BA (Hons)

One of the things that makes the university stand out is its supportive learning environment. The lecturers and staff are approachable and encourage students to ask questions and engage with their studies. The university also provides opportunities to gain practical knowledge and develop skills that can be useful for future careers. I have also enjoyed being part of such an international and diverse student community. Meeting people with different cultures, experiences, and perspectives has made my university experience more interesting and enjoyable. It has helped me expand my way of thinking and build meaningful connections. Overall, the University of Westminster is a great place to study because it combines academic learning with personal development, diversity, and a supportive student environment. Based on my experience, it has been a place where I have been able to learn, grow, and make valuable memories.

The best part of my university experience has been the practical opportunities and the knowledge I gained throughout my degree, especially my placement year. International Development Management MSc

The strongest part of my experience at Westminster was the diversity of the student body. On my MSc in International Development Management, I was in seminars and career fairs with people from a dozen different countries, some with real field experience, and that made the discussions far richer than anything a textbook could offer. The teaching staff had genuine practitioner backgrounds rather than purely academic ones, so the theory was always tied back to how development work actually functions in the real world. The Marylebone Campus location was also a real advantage — being close to Westminster parliament, and policy events meant guest speakers and networking opportunities were easier to access. As regards what could be improved, I’d have liked more structured career support tailored to international students and practical guidance on the UK job market, visa routes and employer connections. It would have made a big difference in the transition from study to work.
