What students say about therapies

The staff and students around the campus are always so welcoming and friendly. It really makes me enjoy where I’m studying. I think something that could be improved is the university’s response to student based issues.

What students say about therapies

There is great support for students and facilities, especially for photography. I have been able to create high-quality prints and experiment with various cameras and lighting. As well as knowing that my lecturers are there to support me. The building is situated well in the centre of Cardiff, with it being very accessible to various student accommodations, shops, places to go out and transport links. However, the student union could host more events to bring students together even more.

Support Services are amazing. They go out of their way to support my peers and me. They are a credit to the university. - Lecturers are very supportive, especially with assignments University halls are in desperate need of refurbishing. Harry Law, Bateson and Rees are the main offenders. Generally, the university's estates need investment.

Sheffield Hallam University

What students say about therapies

The community is very diverse and inclusive, you can find a lot of other people like you and get talking. Laptop borrowing, computer rooms, and lecture halls are useful and conducive to learning, and the professors want you to do your best and encourage you to achieve, giving good guidance as well. Student support can be hit or miss - I was not contacted by them in first year, and had to contact them myself so I could learn about what support they can offer me, but when the agreements are in place, they are quite good. Collegiate campus has amazing nature and building design, beautiful and on Ecclesall Road, and both campuses are easy to get to from the city centre. The Students' Union does not feel like it is part of the university - I have had little interaction with them, do not know the full extent of what they offer, and do not entirely know how they work, and so it does not seem like a top priority or the first thing one may think of when they think of Sheffield Hallam University. However, this is not the universal experience of the Union, and others may say differently. Overall, the university is rather good, and my experience is largely satisfactory.

What students say about therapies

One of the things I love about my University is the accessibility of different resources and how you can get everything you need within a 10 to 20-minute walk. While it does rain quite often, I also love the climate and the landscape especially in my accommodation, which overlooks a cute little golf course. One of the things I am not very fond of, personally is the fact that the weather can make me feel low and depressed easily which has been a common occurrence, but that too is not so much a University thing as it is personal and geographical. To be frank, I do not have much to complain, if at all, about my time here in Bangor University.

What students say about therapies

The University of Hertfordshire has great facilities, but there are quite a few unnecessary procedures that could be streamlined, such as booking appointments for even the smallest matters. My experience so far has been disappointing from an academic perspective. I was expecting better quality education, but instead, most of the lectures consist of simply reading from PowerPoint slides, and the practical sessions have been far from engaging. While I understand that self-study is important, not all students, especially international ones like myself, have prior industrial experience or expertise. It's crucial that the university recognizes this and provides clearer, more detailed information about the curriculum, how exams work, and what is expected in terms of assessments. Relying solely on self-study and putting too much responsibility on the students isn’t fair, especially when we're paying for a quality education.

What students say about therapies

I'm an optometry student entering my third year in September 2024. The lecturers are very nice and supportive; however, the optometry students in Group C are extremely rude, disrespectful, and lack any sort of manners. Many of them speak poorly of you if you fall behind or are slow in your routine, and they refuse to collaborate despite knowing that practice is essential for skill improvement.

The location in central London not far from where the UKs decisions are made is amazing. The library has most of the resources I need and if you can’t find something the library staff will happily try and make it available. The thing where the uni lets us down the most is admin.

What students say about therapies

The support Brighton Uni has given me so much support with this course and made it very clear who to contact if any issues arise. I also know from friends how incredibly supportive and sympathetic the uni has been when they have experienced personal issues. This is my second Uni I have studied at, and Brighton is far better with the support it gives its students compared to the first one.

What students say about therapies

I love the city in general. The University's libraries are good. with proper facilities that I can use, such as discussion rooms, computers, printers, even 3D printer! Some buildings look so old but in positive ways, make them look classic and cultured. However, in my own experience, some classrooms are a little bit aged. i mean, like some chairs are feel old, they are sometimes kind of wobbly, and some of them do not have enough leg room. Main library can be crowded when exam days come, but I think that is something that can not be avoided. i think it is good to add some space for classrooms or some like study hubs.
