Statistics postgraduate degrees in Central England

I am a mature distance learning student, completing my MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics. The online platform is easy to use and the digital library is expansive. All staff have been easy to contact when I need any support, including IT, Finance, Admin, my personal tutor and teaching staff. I have been assigned a mentor to help me stay connected with university life and the Philosophy department. The modules are contemporary, as are the course materials. The student cohort is diverse and we all connect to the course flexibly, from different time zones. I receive a weekly events newsletter which has plenty of options for attending online webinars and socials.

Best aspect is the wonderful array of societies and extra curricular activities on campus, including my personal favourite Musicality! Worst part is probably the obscene charge for student card replacements, mine was stolen and I was still asked to pay £15!

It is good as there is a plethora of support available for all kinds of needs, however, the learning methods are very monotone and there is no atmosphere in the lessons, but this is largely down to the unenthusiasm of a lot of students. Additionally, the facilities are decent but no better than the ones at I had at college, there is just a greater quantity of them. Given that you have to pay for university but not college, you would expect there to be significantly better facilities at a university compared to a college

The supervisors, Phd office, students and the university itself have been wonderfully supportive. It is easy to criticise minor issues or those beyond the universities control, but overall it is just a great place to be and study. The Students Union could improve the way it deals with people as I did not find them particularly supportive, but then maybe I caught them on a bad day. I will still give them 4 stars since they mean well.

Great support from Life Sciences researchers and a feeling that they care for their students. Campus is lacking good food outlets, overpriced and unhealthy food. Buffalo Joes is ludicrously priced for the quality of the food you receive and everything available is processed rubbish across campus. For a campus that is self contained and not within walking distance to amenities in town there is very little options available, previously we had outlets like Waterstones, now we have empty units that offer nothing.
